And why would the Republican-majority House of Representatives go along with appointing Newsom as VP? More than likely, they would simply obstruct any nomination, leaving Kevin McCarthy, as Speaker of the House, as next in line in succession.

Money, favors, any number of reasons, if I'm not mistaken it just requires a majority. How many "republicans" in the house could we say are like Todd Young?

Power is certainly a very addictive drug, with some it seems even to transcend the soul. The person that once was has been gone for some time, and as was observed earlier leaves only a shell that acts as a vessel of the power.

Not the only one singing "ding dong the witch is dead". Never thought I would be happy to see one die, but that was the only way she would leave the senate.
I guess I'm not really celebrating her death, because I don't see any benefit to it. When RBG died I celebrated because it gave Trump a chance to pick her replacement. On the other hand, being a senator from Commiefornia, Dianne Feinstein's replacement is 100% going to be the same or worse.

I guess the one good thing to come out of it, though, is for her, as she can finally go on to her final judgement and not have to suffer through her decrepit body being drug around as part of the left's puppet show any longer.

She was a target of attempts on her life from left wing groups. Including a flowerpot bomb she was actually a moderate Democrat in the early days.

Its not rocket science... 2- 6 yr terms for Senate, 6- 2 yr terms for House. Mandatory retirement at 65...

90 years old, she looked like a walking corpse. Not sorry.

Being in Congress should not turn into a lifestyle for these leeches...
I think 70 would be reasonable still. Lots of life in you. But I'd draw the line at 75. That is actual retirement age. You should be totally retired by then.
