DA declines to pursue charges against construction site manager who found two trespassers possibly burgling the site. The trespassers sprayed the manager with bear spray; he shot them both, 7rounds, one DOS and one died at hospital.

Father of woman who died at hospital has big sob story about how his daughter shouldn’t have had to worry about being shot for illegally entering and attacking a lawful occupant.

I sympathize with anyone who loses their kid because the kid made a foolish decision, but… wait, cripes, she was 37 years old, the guy she was with was 40. Plenty of time to review her life choices.

Crime is only "down" as compared to the 2020 Summer of Love. This is a typical leftist tactic: intentionally drive up crime (and unemployment), and then claim how wonderful they are for bringing the numbers back down - while ignoring that the numbers are still higher than baseline.

I’d say that crime has always been under reported. Just like folks that use a firearm for defense, the times they are not discharged we will probably never get a good number.

Even factoring in Dem cities like NY Seattle San Fran and others that are told not to arrest for certain things might play some factor however when you look at murders it is down. Hard to under report murders.

I’d agree some others (like road rage and general craziness) seems like it happens more. We all see the short videos but most don’t show if there was an LE outcome so not sure

The main issue with NY is a small number if folks (I have read 5 or 10% depending on sources ) are committing like 80% of the crimes.

That whole NY Governor using the Guard is nothing but a publicity campaign to try and make it look like Texas and Florida sending them some southern visitors.

Driver invades house occupied by grandmother and four yo grandson. Driver demands keys to her car, she points him to a ”bowl of keys.” He grabs some keys and leaves, she grabs grandson, flees to bedroom and arms herself.

Apparently driver grabbed wrong keys, comes back and demands more. Grams warns him to leave, he advances, and BLAM. He crawls off down the hallway.

Cops take him to hospital, discover his miscreant history, say he will be charged again when released from hospital.

2nd woman comes up with handgun (that seemed to belong to boyfriend), shoots 1st woman twice, killing her.

Prosecutor charges 2nd woman with 2nd degree murder, carrying pistol w/o a license, carrying pistol during crime of violence. 4years to trial. Argued, among other things, that 2nd woman had duty to retreat.

2nd woman argued self-defense.

Jury acquitted on all charges.

Read some other articles about trial. Boyfriend and sister were both prosecution witnesses, doesn’t sound like either were very truthful. Multiple videos of incident (but not online apparently).

85-year-old woman awakened at 0200 apparently due to burglar hitting her in the head (deputies found blood on her pillow).

Burglar drags her to another room at gunpoint and handcuffs her to a chair. Repeatedly threatens her with death as he ransacks the house.

While he’s out of the room, she drags chair back to her bedroom, retrieves 357 magnum, returns to original spot and hides gun.

He comes back in and threatens her some more, she decides it’s go time. She draws and shoots twice, both good hits. Unfortunately, he unloads his 9 mm at her and strikes her several times, chest, abdomen, arm, leg.

Burglar wanders off to kitchen where he dies. Woman falls the floor and lays there TEN HOURS until her disabled son comes upstairs and gives her phone. She calls 911.

So far she’s still alive. DA and police praise her.

Another article says she had 11 gunshot wounds (!). Investigation shows burglar knew who she was from pawn shop that she ran and a gun range so he figured she’d have valuable things at home.
