This actually backs up what I have been telling you guys for several years...

Yet you always seemed to ignore the important part, which I've been telling you guys for several years:

The majority of people will keep right on saving daylight year-round.

It's the perpetual changing back and forth that the majority never wanted and still don't. That won't be missed.

Those who celebrated the perpetual changes, when pressed, never got around to actually defending them.

That won't be missed, either. :D

This actually backs up what I have been telling you guys for several years. 44% of those that want to do away with changing clocks, want later sunsets compared to just 13% that want earlier sunrises, that does not include those happy with the current situation. So a majority want the later in the summer. Most of the other polls referenced similar.
Are those the same polls that insist Biden's approval rating is still above 40%

The permanent DST will result in near 9AM sunrises in December, the mommies will quickly want to go back to changing clocks just like last time…

They are free to petition for a schedule change, which might make sense. Start classes an hour later, no biggie.

Returning to everybody changing all the schedules and shifting the clocks back and forth biannually just isn't a reasonable or sane response to such easily fixed "problems".

What schedules need to change with DST? The changing of the clocks negated the need to do that. Society is set up that life and timing are all relative to one another, changing the clocks, a minor inconvenience at worst, to shift the day light relative to the societal timing…

Don't be silly, changing the clocks did not negate the changes of schedule that actually happened twice per year.

The imaginary does not negate the real.

We're just doing away with the imaginary. Any schedule you want to shift after that point need only be done once.

    Set it and forget it!

It could be if it means needing to find child care if the parents aren't able to change their work schedule to accommodate a later school start time. Just sayin'. I don't care really since I start work at 4:30 a.m. and have no kids.
Let's give folks a chance to problem solve before we return everyone to coonfingering the clocks again like savages.

Like I said, it doesn't matter to me, but it's a legitimate concern for some. I can and do work a flex schedule. I get plenty of daylight after work ends at 3 p.m. with or without DST. :) My preference would be permanent standard time, but I'm a morning person.

We live on the extreme edge of a time zone no matter what we do; a bunch of folks are not going to be happy and always agitating for change.

It is a misrepresentation to say the time changes are imaginary, I can assure you that the sun did indeed set one hour later last Sunday evening than it did on the Saturday evening preceding it. That us nit imaginary.

Changing clocks does eliminate the need for many businesses and schools to change their schedules to give their employees or students more light after work. Rather than the PIA it would be to make changes as a business and all that would entail, we just move the clock. Easy peasy…

Permanent, year-round standard time is the best choice to most closely match our circadian sleep-wake cycle,” said lead author Dr. M. Adeel Rishi, a pulmonology, sleep medicine and critical care specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and vice chair of the AASM Public Safety Committee. “Daylight saving time results in more darkness in the morning and more light in the evening, disrupting the body’s natural rhythm.”

Yeah, if we don't like permanent summer time after a few years, one shift and we'll be back on permanent standard time like none of this silliness ever happened.

    Easy peasy...

    :alright:

I'd be good with that. The lazy layabouts that like to sleep in in the mornings and eat breakfast for lunch might be surprised at how much they get done when they get up at a respectable hour. :p

No, the small portion of the world that actually changed as we did was already more than ready to abandon the practice.

This will be a good time for them to follow through.

    Nobody will miss it.
I guess my question was unclear or maybe I don't understand.

Standard time is -5 GMT. On DST, we are -4 GMT. If we institute permanent DST, we will be off a timezone. Won't we?
