I have most all parts for the vz 58 build. Curious if there are any builders out there that have assembled this rifle? I have built an AK 74 Bulgarian (only prob I had with it was barrel alignment in trunnion). Is it much harder then building the AK platform? It would seem they require about the same tools?

I have been getting the itch lately is why I ask. It has been sitting about 1yr .

    Thx.

Well so far it has been a bit harder. I haven't even really done much yet.

As compared to the AK the vz is harder to remove the barrel. The barrel pin had to be drilled out. The receiver had to be cut to remove the barrel. A dremel tool took care of that problem. With a little breathing room the barrel finally popped out.

Oh ya, I used pennies against the barrel when pressing. Pennies are softer and wont hurt the barrel the way steel will.
