Browning BPS Pump Shotgun Won't Cock Back

Today I went to the range and put a good 10 rounds of slugs into my shotgun and each round fed just fine. I let someone else shoot it, and they tell me that the shotgun will not cock back. I tried to cock it with the release button pushed in but it will not budge. The release button is flopping around, and the forestock will not move. I also tried pressing the trigger, but the trigger is also stuck. I can't clear the chamber, and there is a live round inside. Any solutions I could try to safely clear it, or should I take it to a gunsmith? The safety will engage though. Also, is there any gunsmiths that you would recommend in the NWI area? Any help is appreciated.

I tried, but the forestock will not go back far enough for me to be able to pull it out.

I don't think you need to move the action to remove the barrel.
Unscrew the mag cap, and slide the barrel forward.

You should be also be able to remove the trigger assembly (lower/rear most pin in receiver) and possibly shed some light on the issue or at least more access.

No advice on dealing with the live round in the chamber, but @marvin02 put up a pretty nice thread about disassembly & reassembly the BPS he had at the time:

Finally ended up getting the gun cleared, all I did was slam the stock on the ground while holding the forestock and the casing came right out.

I would check for rust in the chamber.

I disassembled it, no rust just a bunch of dirt and debris. Cleaned it out with some hoppe's. The owner before must've taken it hunting and got a lot of dirt trapped in there and never cleaned it.
