Who does body work on vehicles as a side gig or hobby? I’ve got a couple trucks that have a need for rockers and cab corners replaced. Is it something a non professional could tackle or not? Also bedsides? I’ve found a composite bedside to replace the steel. Has anyone had any experience with that? Both trucks are crew cabs.

Rockers and cab corners aren't terrible if you have a MIG welder and an indoor place to work. Buy some patch panels that are already formed, lay them over the damaged area, mark where you want to cut them, then use a sheet metal stepper tool to make a little 1/4" step so you aren't trying to weld thin metal that's just butted together.

I've also used 3M panel bond with an inch or two of overlap to patch floorboards or large flat areas where aesthetics aren't a concern.

The limiting factor is usually how far you have to go to find weldable steel.
