Only thing im uncomfortable with is aspirating for a tension pneomothorax. I understand most everything else from an Als standpoint.

Im wondering if it'd be beneficial for me? I deal with airway patency issues a lot. :)

Double T-while this is not something that I would show to everyone if you do need some help with I am more than willing to go over it. Treating a tension is not to hard to get down.

If I can get at least 10 people to commit to this class I will set it up and provide all with the details.

    Thanks

I would be in. If you would, please PM me if you decide to move forward, just in case I do not see the thread update.

Wish my schedule would allow me the hour and a half one way trip. I have a little training, but would love more, especially centered on GSW.

I think it is a great thing you are doing here. Maybe I can get enough people in this area interested to make it worth a trip for you.

If the people that said that they could get a few others to attend can give me definite numbers I believe that there are enough to people to run the class. Let me know guys and I will finalize everything and finish getting the last few supplies together for Blow Out Kits.

I understand what you're saying but I would hate to see people go straight to a tourniquet and cause permanent damage when they could have just held pressure for a while. And as far as anatomy , I was meaning that they are shown the major points. Well it's medicine so we will all have our own opinions on what's right and wrong. I didn't mean to step on any toes.

This to me is sort of simple...there are only 4 places a tourniquet goes leg leg arm arm...if you have a femoral bleed in any of those chances are your past worrying about dammage to the limb. you are worried about either saving your own life or saving someone elses. If you have a femoral bleed i can tell you from first hand experience pressure WILL NOT stop that. Your two simple options are tourniquet or combat gauze...Ideally both.

If you are looking for an extra set of hands, I have worked as a Paramedic for nearly 10 years and am an ITLS instructor. No combat experience, but the rest of the information should be standard.
