Well we all seem to agree that there are multiple levels of failure.

The armorer allowing live ammo on the set.
    Whoever loaded the gun.
The person who was handling the gun.
The person who hired the armorer who allowed live ammo on the set.

Baldwins name is listed after 2 of the 4 line items above.

I listened to parts of the armorer’s trial. There was plenty of stupid to go around on that set. Seems like everyone knew it the set wasn't safe and the armorer and others were not up to the task, but no one did anything.

From a safety investigation point of view, there were a lot of holes obviously lining up in the cheese. The armorer was responsible for some of it, but she wasn't solely responsible. It appears to me that the pursuit of criminal responsibility did not go far enough. It also appears the initial police investigators were not up to their task either.

The live ammo should not have been there, but that was not the sole reason someone got shot. There were procedures not followed that would have discovered the ammo if they had been used. It’s like the four (or three, whatever) rules: you have to follow all of them, they back each other up. If you just decide to follow one rule, and it fails, you’re going to get hurt.
Id be really interested in hearing/seeing the proceedings, do you have a link to where you listened to it?

There are a bunch of vids on Youtube. Just search on Rust Trial or something similar. The trial ran for 10 days and had numerous witnesses, so there is no single vid that has everything.

Do look for the videos where the defense’s expert gun witness gets chewed out by the judge for not showing clear a gun he brought for demonstration… and then he points it at the judge. :ugh: :lmfao:

The defendant’s lawyer seems to be less than stellar.

Here’s some highlights (lowlights?) from the defense’s witnesses. It starts with the defense’s expert gun witness.

The method the "firearms expert" demonstrated for de-cocking a revolver is incorrect, to which anyone who has taken an NRA Basic Handgun Course can attest.

The armorer has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and may be sentenced to up to 18 months and fined as much as $5,000.

Yup...he never released pressure on the trigger while lowering the hammer, leaving the revolver subject to firing should his thumb 'slip' off the hammer while lowering! This was after he failed to clear the revolver himself, after being handed a firearm, an he then allowed the muzzle to cover the judge herself...how freakin' awful to have someone listed as an 'expert' while yet so ignorant and stupid!
