Anyone remember the Broad Ripple Broom Man?

This guy came up in a conversation today:

There used to be a blind guy who for years stood on the corner outside the (then) Amoco gas station next to Park Tudor School. I used to see him standing there all the time and my family bought several brooms from him. But I haven't seen him in many years.

What ever happened to him? Is he still alive?

I saw a person selling brooms there within the last 6 months. I didn't notice if he was blind or not but it was memorable because it was so unusual.

I remeber years ago a blind guy that sold brooms out of the front of the Fishers Post Office. Real nice brooms. I'm thinking like late 80's.

I am too young to remember where, but someone on the eastside where I grew up had a blind guy that sold brooms. Want to say somewhere around Eastgate Mall, late 80's early 90's. Wonder if he was the same one you saw in Broadripple, traveling blind broom salesman?

He made the rounds, he used to be in Beech Grove once and a while. I haven't seen him for a while.

My mother says she saw a blind broom salesman last week at the Nora Library, that's why I'm wondering if it's the same guy.
