My compressor went out on my 2 ton heat pump. Got a quote from local company for about $1500 to replace and 5lbs r22.
The unit is an old seer 10 unit.
Have also gotten quotes for replacing with new seer 13 2 ton unit(both outside and inside system). They are going to send me a quote on different systems that are larger (2.5ton) as well as higher seer rating.
I feel that the prices are a little high and want to do some shopping around.
That said, the house is all electric, so indoor unit needs electric strips. House is about 1680sq. ft. with high ceilings throuhout. I live in New Whiteland.
If anyone wants to quote this, I want quote for replacing compressor as well as complete new system sized correctly.
