it was a freak accident... part of the game. yes its sad. I cant believe the family won! i would think the judge would say, "Really?" they must be from further west.

a friend of mine slid into 3rd base and the base came up. he broke his leg on the peg in the ground. he just said it was a freak accident. now if there was a warning label on the side, he would have known not to slide (sarcasm)... but then the ball might hit him that could cause a "unrecoverable injury" umm... who can i sue for the baseball hitting me?

What will happen is that the Little League people will make a rule that all players will have to wear a batter's helmet with a full face cage, and probably enough pads and shields on them to where it will look like the players are dressing for a football game.
