take as detailed notes watching me shoot as you do with your target percentages and ammo usage and the improvement will come
    My notes on Zackcz: :coffee:
    - young guy
    - steady hands
    - good eyes
    - arthritis-free
    - shoots better than me standing & free-handed than I'll ever do on a rest sitting down :fogey:
    - hasn't learned that Browning Buckmark guns shoot a little better than most others, haha!
    - best at gun trades on INGO & perhaps the state of IN :ingo:

    Observational summary:
There's not a gun I can buy that will enable me to outshoot you, haha!

Another fun day at the range shooting an acquisition of Zackcz again. :rockwoot:
If I had another friend or two like Zack I'd never have to buy another toy to play with at the range b/c he keeps me busy nearly every week.
I've done this before, but here I go again:
Zack picked up another .22LR Kadet Kit for his SS CZ 75.
The one he had a couple of years ago he lost it in a multi-CZ gun deal with his brother-in-law, haha!
    Family! :dunno:

Used three rows of 3.75" circles to begin the adjustment, then switched to one row of 1.75" circle.
When Zack gets a red fiber optic for the front sight, I'll be able to dial in tighter groups.
If not, Zack will be able to do so with his young man eyes/hands, haha!

All 21' with 3 different ammos.
1st row: CCI Blazer 5 1/2" group total.
2nd row: Armscor 5 1/4 group total, with the smallest single group at 1 3/8".
3rd row: Federal AutoMatch 4 7/8" group total overall.
My math could be off a hair, but I do think AutoMatch edged out Armscor.
    Range 03.10.2023 3.75in circles wGun.jpg

Federal AutoMatch at 21' on 1.75" circles.
Zack promises that with a new front red fiber optic : 100%.
Only shot on the top row of this old target I turned upside down.
Below it was a more accurate Browning Buckmark.

    Browning Buckmarks x3 today:
    - Pro Target w/Sig Romeo red dot
on it (switched out the Browning that came with it), most recently bought
    - Lite Gray (I called "Silver" before I realized its correct name, iron sights, bought after the Vision
    - Vision iron sights, bought some time after the Browning Buckmark Silhouette 10" (with optic)

I was advised to try a better red dot than the Browning red dot that came with it & finally got around to it today.
I compared the results between the Browning & the Sig Romeo red dots with pics below.
Statistically same with the Sig Romeo red dot barely coming out ahead:
Romeo 88% - Browning 86%: comparing average & of each row.
Romeo 8/16 - Browning 7/16: comparing 5/5 on all 16 circles on entire page
Romeo 50% - Browning 44%: percentage on above 5/5 circles on entire page

Either red dot it is not measuring up to previous guns with optics that do:
    - 100% in rows
    - 16/16 or 10/10 in 5/5
    - 100% percentage on 5/5 circles
The SW 41 & BB Silhouette 10" come to mind, but could be 1-2 more.

    Used Federal AutoMatch ammo.
    30' when using a optics (21' w/o optics).
Perhaps next time, I can do a 100% row.

My best guns can do a whole page of 16 circles at 100% or my 10 circle targets at minimum.
The inconsistency could be me today, I was having constant distracting annoying pain. :wallbash:

Since I have guns that will do 5/5 circles consistently, the Pro Target is not yet been put on the "keeper" list.
I'll repeat the test later in the week when pain free.
I like the feel of the Pro Target pistol better than the Lite Gray (probably b/c of the weight) & trying to find an excuse to keep it.
Trimming: one or both? Time will tell.

Using the Sig Romeo red dot.
    Rows scored: 95%, 90%, 75%, 90% = 88% average.
    8/16 circles getting 5/5 = 50%.
Range 03.13.2023 wSig Romeo red dot 1st time.jpg

BB Pro Target using the Browning red dot previously.
    Rows scored: 80%, 95%, 80% & 90% = 86% average.
7/16 circles getting 5/5 = 44% using the Browning red dot.
    Range 02.27.2023 1st range day w2 ammo brands 1.75in circles.jpg

The BB Vision & BB Lite Gray ("Silver," I called it)
I was surprised that these two tied today, since the Vision is the "better" gun.
    No optics.
Range 03.13.2023 BB Lite Gray or Silver & Vision.jpg

1st day I shot the BB Vision (bottom row), I got 100% in a row, as God intended, haha!

    9mm x3 today:
    - Beretta 92 FS INOX (15 rd)
    - Beretta PX4 Storm (18 or 20 rd)
    - CZ Rami (10 or 14 rd)

Put 10 rds from each gun on 5.75" circles at 30' on a rest.
    Measured groups.

Upper left circle CZ Rami = 5 3/8" groups (last today)
    Upper right circle Beretta PX4 Storm = 4 7/8" groups (2nd today)
    Middle circle Beretta 92FS INOX = 3 1/2" groups (1st today)

POI was low & I had to raise my POA for both Berettas.
CZ Rami POI not as much.
Thought about using 3.75" circles today, but I was under time constraints.

I left the Browning Buckmarks in the safe today to shoot one of my favorite "oldies."
SW 422 (bought off Zachcz, March 2022).
    Produced 1987-1996.
    Love the trigger!

    Used 4 different ammo brands:
    - CCI Blazer
    - CCI SV
    - Federal AutoMatch
    - Armscor

No failures to fire or eject (some questions online about using SV or HV with this gun).
I didn't have any problem with the SV.
    10 rds per 3.75" circles.
20 rds per ammo brand, with Armscor getting an extra 10 rds b/c there was an extra circle left over, haha!
If I wasn't pressed for time today, I would have put the 1.75" circles up for a go-around.

Fixed sights: it wants to shoot 1-2" low & a little left in my hands, but easily to adapt POA.
    My usual 21' for a non-optic.
    Groups listed:
    - Armscor = 1st with 1 1/8" best group (1st row 3rd circle)
    - CCI Blazer = 2nd with 1 3/8" best group (1st row 2nd circle)
    - Federal AutoMatch = 1 1/2" best group (3rd row 1st circle)
    - CCI SV = last with 1 5/8" best group (2nd row 1st circle)

Those are great little pistols. I own one as well. Bought it before people caught on. Paid like $160 8 or 10 years ago.
I also have a S&W 41 and with me behind the trigger Dollar for dollar that 422 doesn't lag that far behind the 41. And there are ALOT of dollars in between...lol. even at today's prices there hard to beat.

Zackcz was telling me the same just today.
My Smith 41 shoots better than the SW422, but for 1/3 the price, the 422 gets its share of love, haha!
Fantastic about the $160 price tag.

3 days in a row going to the range, best week in a month free of medical stuff! :oldwise:

Finally got 100% on row 2 today (row 4 not count since only 21'). :rockwoot:
This puts it into the "possibility keeper," category. :coffee:
It needs to be able to do 100% on an entire page, though, to keep up with my other "keepers."

Started with row 4 on the bottom & worked my way up.
I thought I'd get 100% on the top (and last row) that I shot, but ended up with a 3 on first circle, lowest of the day.
    Frustrating! :wallbash:

I contemplated buying a Buckmark but from what I read the sight bracket/optics base has to be removed to disassemble the pistol. I would most definitely need an optics base with some type of dot sight.

I saw a vid with a guy cleaning the Buckmark w/o removing the sight bracket, which probably allows for more access & a deeper clean.
That's the way I'll do it as long as I can get away with it.
Your right, it is a hassle & gets more involved than even the sight bracket needing disassembled.

The 3 Browning Buckmarks again that I bought in Nov, Jan & Feb from members & also a Taurus TX Comp. 5" to see how it measured up (it did fine!).
Since I have 4 Buckmarks, I'm trying to figure out which to keep, but I like all of them & today was no help b/c they all scored the same 90% & 95% on rows of my 1.75" circles. :dunno:
At least I enjoy the different nuances in shooting each.

    Browning Buckmarks:
    - Pro Target w/Romeo red dot
    - Lite Gray (I used to call "Silver" not knowing its given name, haha!) w/iron sights
    - Plus Vision Plus Black Gold w/iron sights

Armscor 36 grain, HP, HV ammo today.

Last target of the day with all 4 pistols.
With the 2 red dots, the Taurus TX 5" Comp. edged out the BB Pro Target, 100% to 90% (adding both the x & 10 circles),
Buckmark Pro Target getting only 70% on my 2nd try. :ugh:
In just the X circle, the TX scored 4, whereas the Pro Target scored 1, then 2 on the 2nd try.
TX 5" Competition came out ahead today.
If it had not measured up today, the TX would have been up for sale, haha!
    In the non-optic division:
I can't believe that the Lite Gray can keep up with the Plus Vision (90% both).
But, on just the X circle, it was Plus Vision 4 compared to Lite Gray 3.
Red dots at 30' with non-optics at 21'.

    Didn't go well.

Got my 2 remaining revolvers out today.
The Heritage 16" with it's rear green & front red fiber optics make it a fun gun to shoot (since I can actually see, haha!),
so haven't been able to part with it yet as I had originally intended.
    Row 1 (Heritage 16") & Row 2 (Dan Wesson)
    Shot terrible for me today.
    Must need cleaned.
Both are capable of 100% in a row on a normal day.

    Row 3
The Hi Standard belongs to Mongo59, that I'm storing in the safe:
    - HIGH STANDARD SUPERMATIC CITATION 107 MILITARY.
It doesn't cycle without manually pushing the slide closed, b/c the round gets hung up only partially getting started into the chamber.
It doesn't have a ramp, but made so as the angle of the round in the magazine is supposed to feed the round into the chamber.
Mongo59 thinks it might have the wrong mag in it.
Despite it being cumbersome to feed, it shows great potential, getting a 95% today.
I put drops of Lucas Gun Oil on the rails to see if that would help, but it is the round getting hung up leaving the magazine & not sitting high enough to load into the chamber.
I intend to bring it back to the range using other ammo, to see if that can make a difference.

Ignore Row 4 with the HW 45 Air Pistol.

Been awhile since I had the Kel-Tec CP33 out.
I never had Kel-Tec on my radar, but Zackcz let me shoot his, & I ended up buying it, haha!
Row 1 started out well (95%) but got worse every row until it went completely bonkers on Row 4 (05%, haha!)
    Tumbling.
    Must need cleaned.
3rd row started acting out with flyers but then went insane on Row 4.

    Used CCI Blazer.
    Row one almost got 100%.

One of my favorite older .22LR pistols is the SW 422, produced 1987-96.
I picked up one last March 2022 & another this am in the Classifieds.
It is exactly like my "old" one, except the "old" one has a threaded barrel.
I enjoy having duplicates of the same gun to compare at the range, especially if there are different grips and/or barrel lengths.
Since I don't need a threaded barrel, I will eventually sell the "old" one I've had since March 2022.

Previous owner of this "new" one, had bought it years ago & put it into his safe, & indicated the original owner did much the same with little rounds used.
While waiting for Range USA to open in Greenwood, I took the slide off.
I ran a snake through barrel & used a treated wipe that came in the box on everything, not adding any drops of oil since the wipe left a residue of lubricant behind.
I will do a proper cleaning & lube before the next range visit.

Below, targets with comments on each.
Both guns POI about 1-1.5", typical of mine & Zackcz's experience, both having had a few SW 422.

1st target I used CCI SV at 21' on 1.75" circles.
    Row 1 & 2 with "new" or 2nd 422 picked up this am = 95% & 85%.
    Row 3 & 4 using the "old" 422 from 2022 = 95% & 90%.

2nd target doing the same but using Federal AutoMatch.
    Row 1 & 2 with "new" 422 = 85% & 75%.
    Row 3 & 4 with "old" 422 = 75% & 50%
The last 3 circles in Row 4 seem to indicate I need to clean the "old" 422, since it went haywire .

I was pressed for time, but I did another round using the Federal Automatch.
I did I quick wipe & ran a snake through the "old" 422, but not much help.
    Row 1 with "new" 422 = 100%. :rockwoot:
    Row 2 with "old" 422 = 65% (uncharacteristically low).

Example of the "old" 422 bought last March = 95% & 90% (typical).
I'll have to do a deeper clean on it since my "quickie" clean didn't address the low %.

Another example of the "old" 422 using 10 rds per circle = 85%.
Using Fed. AutoMatch again like today.
