On stand this morning. 6 pt walking under me. Coyote came near but no shot. Sadly about 400 yards away a small buck got killed on road. Busy road as teachers flying to elementary school. I often hear a car slow and honk. 5 fawns have bit the dust this year on same section of road.

Anyone seeing much movement? I’ve been out a couple times so far and seems like the squirrel army is ruling the forest.

I haven’t been seeing much deer movement either the last couple sets. I shifted gears this morning and turkey hunted for the first day of fall firearm season. I saw a 5 fly off the roost and an 1 1/2 or so later I seen them about 75 yards through the woods. I gave them a few yelps and they bee lined to me, 2 jakes and 3 toms. I shot the first tom that gave me an opportunity. Warren County.

I got out this morning for the first time this season. First time using a crossbow as well. I was seeing deer almost constantly from first light until the hunt was over. This little 7 pointer gave me an opportunity at 35 yds, and I couldn't resist. He donkey-kicked and took off in a straight line when I shot. From my stand I could see my bolt sticking out of the ground behind where he had been. I gathered my gear and got down, nervously walking over to where the bolt was. I was ecstatic to see it was covered in blood and there was hair on the ground as well! I gave it a good 30 minutes after the shot, then started blood trailing. It was an easy trail with blood getting more and more plentiful as I went along. I found him dead about 50-60yds away.

Sat until about 3 today. Didn't see a thing. Saw tons of fresh tracks in my food plot, though. Moved a camera and headed home for a Halloween party with the daycare kids.
