    Can’t help noticing the slide top treatments from today’s gunsmiths. This from 2002 shows the milling done before sight cuts so it makes for a cleaner plane. Just my personal taste is all.

    Speaking of slide treatments, I learned a couple weeks ago that French Borders on 1911 slides were first used by custom smiths to cover up their cosmetic screwups and then became popular as they were seen as a sign of custom work. Neat fun fact

    I am fond of the chevrons and the ball cut to set up the transition from side to top.

    I can't resist my new custom gaboon ebony grips. The one piece Ed Brown Snake SkinPattern Magwell, fills out the blacked-out feel. I had to adjust the photo for the details even.

    I just picked up a CZW Dan Wesson Valor and it is a stellar piece. No pics as my phone is acting up.
    Also brought Home a Night Hawk Commander length.
