      I just mention a 3 day plan and talk about ice storms, thunder storms that knock the power out for a while, etc. That's how I got hooked on prepping: We prepped for a 3 day problem, and then decided to go for three weeks and so on. Ready.gov is a decent site to show noobs how to get started.

      Don't forget tooth brush, paste, and floss. You can watch a dozen "look at my BOB" videos on Youtube where guys have all the zombie-riffic gear available, but have no tooth brush.

      Glock 22 is my issued weapon. I have other handguns, but the one that's with me 40+ hours a week just sounds sensible. I decided a few days ago that my off duty holster should be the same as my issued holster. There's just something about keeping everything Even Steven that seems good.

      I'll go ahead and buy the argument that not many moved from Chicago to Lafayette. It doesn't matter. It only takes a few to make a real mess and skew the crime stats. If you take a group of 100 people, it will be the same 5 or 6 people who are consistently making trouble for the others.
