I had thought for sure that they were still open and that I stopped by there last fall...

I'm the dumb-arse for not calling and verifying. Now I have an inbound transfer sitting at USPS until it gets returned.

:ugh: Now that's quality... Double dumb-arse on me...

With a bit of searching of public info on the Indiana Secretary of State's website... The registered owner's name is Dennis Cardwell of Russiaville. If anyone knows Dennis, please see if you could contact him for me. It would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling my package is going to be returned to the shipper. :ingo:

That is too bad. After they bought out the original owner, they transitioned to more online gun sales. Seemed like they would be annoyed when a customer stopped by.

    From the other thread:

I picked up a new shootin iron and some ammo from him about a year back.
It was during the week so I'm not sure when they changed it.

Are they "closed closed" or just Saturday hours?

Because I could never find DBTC to be open. I started having any items I buy/bought sent to Shooters Emporium in Kokomo. It used to be "Bullseye". It is under new ownership and they seem like personable folks. At least in my dealings with them. They are a bit pricey though on transfers $50 per serial number. But I have found them to be dependable unlike DBTC.

I sure miss Downhams in Logansport. $25 for transfers.

I miss McDonald's gun shop out by Marion. Great little shop and transfers were easy.

I've stopped into Shooters Emporium a few times since they took over Bullseye. Staff seemed nice and inventory was good. $50 for each transfer seems a wee bit high.

$50 now at Shooters Emporium... Holy moly. I paid $35 last summer. Lookup a chap in Walton. He is new and his transfer rate is $20. $50 per is too rich for me.

I agree, and the SE in Kokomo was $35 at one point then in Nov 23 they went up? Did not make me happy either but I needed a FFL. Thanks for the info on a possible new FFL in Walton.

Downhams was a big part of my life , how I truly miss that place. I learned quite a bit from Doug.

Holy crap! $50 just to fill out paperwork? Thats a ripoff. Thats about $200/hour for the average transfer. (not just the 5 minute NICS. Also adding in time to receive and put your gun in the books and take it back out)

The only shop I have seen that where it made sense is Indiana gun club. For them its like $25-35 for something they dont carry, to $50 for something they do carry. Basically a "f you for not buying what we sell."

For those $50 shops, ask them what their price is for a special order. Sometimes ordering from them for a little markup is cheaper than paying extortion for a transfer.
