I've noticed a LOT less water coming into the sump pit since making these changes which is a huge plus. The pump, during heavy rain, was running 30~45 seconds on and 10~15 seconds off. Now it's running 30~45 seconds on and 1.5~2 minutes off which is a much lighter duty cycle. Found out my backup pump is shot so I'm going to get a battery back-up pump I think... Will be fun attaching it to the existing PVC because I have no plumbing experience either .

I got the 2x3" adapters to 4" and got 25ft of 4" for each of the downspouts at the back of the house. For now they're just ran across the surface. I did use some old bricks to prop the piping up near the downspout so that it didn't have any areas of negative incline.

I'm more concerned with doing it right the first time than doing it cheap [and possibly a second or third time]. The down spouts are 3"x2" so I'll need to see what the store has for me.

Yes. And I'm fine with slowing a roll and taking a more objective look at something, but these guys would tell you the sky was purple just to argue.
