If all of us were as 'ethical' (oops, that word) as he is, maybe we wouldn't need ethics. But the notion that ethics can fall back on people's own ideas of self-interest should be a red flag, even to him. And you're right. Ironically even his notions of ethics ultimately derive from JC ethics. For all the hyperbole in this debate, Americans are really very civil about these issues.

Thanks for the rep! I appreciate it. Hopefully her teammates will keep her on the straight & narrow while there. She's a bit of a "wild child" - and, typically, women's collegiate teams are heads and shoulders above the men's teams in terms of academics and staying out of trouble... Hopefully the case this time, too!
Thanks for the rep. It seems to me everything has been said. Very few listen, and the value systems no longer have a common base for assessing good and evil. Oh well, stay calm and carry on.
