    This did not turn out all right. He went home emotionally affected, and this will stay with him for the rest of his life. When someone puts a gun to your head, they need to be punished hard. We are paying for a government that has turned on its masters.

    Unless the cops started getting punished hard for this and thrown out of this occupation for the rest of their lives, the citizens are at risk of these type of criminal confrontations.

    Nice try, but I am really not interested in your bait.

    was that cop so untrained and scared that he felt holding you at gun point was his only option? this is so stupid! If it were me, it would now be my turn to make him sh*t his pants because hes a retard and shouldnt have a badge. I hope the retard comes to INGO and sees me say it too. RETARD.
    File a complaint and depending on their response lawyer up. they cuffed you for no good reason other than to play cowboys.
    i wouldnt have given them the code to the gate either. i would have made him stand in the rain even longer, looking like a azz bag, and then maybe someone would have started filming.

    I support good cops. not azz bag RETARDS

    The thing I like about APD compared to PPD or IMPD West District for that matter is APD is extremely laid back until all hell breaks loose and then they jump into action. I've had an interaction with every one of APD's officers and for the most part they are pretty cool minus one that I know of off the top of my head that is just plain lazy all around. One thing I have noticed a lot is APD would rather ticket you or write you a summons instead of having to haul you all the way to Danville to book you into the Hendricks Co. Jail.

    I know the feeling. Back before 2000 all the PPD cops were as cool as ice. Officer Graham used to rollerblade and hang out with us down at hummel park in the summer and a few others used to pull us over just to mess with us and we were all fine with that cause we were all cool and on first name basis with each other.

    After 2000, Graham got fired over some :bs: which should have been Berguson, but instead he was promoted. :rolleyes: Then they all just became real buttholes and started spending more time out of town.

    Avon PD are kinda stuck up too. I have had good encounters with a couple of them though.

    I want out of this town. I've lived here for too long. I didn't like it when I moved here, I didn't like it when I left and came back the first or second time and I STILL hate it. It's time to move.

    I'm afraid to ask exactly what you've done in this life, or the previous to cause such constant, and repeated negative interactions with government at all levels. Whatever it is, please don't get any of it on me.

    I am not up on the IC codes but if I remember right a officer can go to gun point if a felony is being commented? There is no REAL reason that his weapon should have been drawn, he would have more then the upper hand just by having his hand on his weapon and being ready to draw. So smart IC guys was the officer justified in taking him to gun point and putting him on the ground? Right or wrong can the officer do what he did? We all know it wasn't right but neither is most of the law...

    no, no, SE was just fine with it. in the end he made small talk with them and probly bought them dinner.

    I was trying to stick up for the guy, but if he doesnt want help and likes getting drawn down on and put in the mud then to each their own i guess. sounds like hes use to it.

    the OP is making it sound like this whole experience was as enjoyable as riding a thrill ride at disneyland. what if you would have been kicked a couple times? would it have just been the same as them playing touch football?

    SE, maybe your trying to not end up on your local LEO's Bunnies and Unicorns list, but i still recomend you at least go talk to their chief and make him aware of what his goons are out doing. Im sure you will find he wont think it as appropriate, and if you would have been a member of the local school board, etc, this would have been all over the news!! It was un-acceptable for you to have a gun pointed at you at the very least. i got no ill will towards you, but man please wake up and smell the coffee

    So let me get this right. Some of you guys out there feel that if someone calls 911 and tells the police some one is breaking into a building and the officer pulls up and finds someone he is breaking their civil rights by point his firearm at them? REALLY????? I think you should thank the officer for his expedious response to a possible burglary in progress. Just my 2 cents.

    Very few on here think that. As stated earlier I see nothing wrong with the way it was handled.

    <snip>
    Finally the back up officer arrives, places me in cuffs, takes my gun, unloads it and is looking for a place to put it.
    <snip>

    <snip>He was real nice about the whole thing and had already figured this was all a big mistake.
    <snip>

    I really can't believe these two sentences were in the same paragraph. At which point was he really cool about the whole thing? Was it when he disarmed you and disassembled your gun, even after verifying you weren't involved in a crime?

    "The officer said he was glad there were normal people that carry and commended me on doing so."
    Boy, he sure did a lot to encourage it, eh? :rolleyes:

    Too far to travel, but here ya go

    Well I appreciate that, but I'll get down that way one of these days. :)

    I'm afraid to ask exactly what you've done in this life, or the previous to cause such constant, and repeated negative interactions with government at all levels. Whatever it is, please don't get any of it on me.

    Don't worry, you won't. I got rid of the really bad stuff LONG ago. I'm not a :poop: magnet, I swear! :)

    Well I do appreciate the "sticking up for me" parts, and I guess I can see where the gun on me part was a bit excessive. I have considered filing a complaint or at least talking with a supervisor about it.

    No, I'm not used to having a gun drawn on me and I'm not used to being detain. I've been in cuffs more than once, yes, but only been drawn on this one time.

    You are right about the part of me not wanting to be on their :poop: list though. I fought a ticket one time in court. The officer lied about actually being there to clock me when he was not there and the judge threw out the case. I assume the officer caught a bunch of crap out of it, and i didn't mean for it to happen like that. I had an airtight case, but the officer slipped up. I ended up getting hounded by every cop in town for the next two months just waiting for me to slip up. So I know what it's like to be on their bad side.

    I guess tomorrow I can at least go talk to the man in charge down there and see what they have to say. Maybe even get a copy of his report as well.

    I'll let you all know what happens tomorrow. It is Sunday so chances are I'll have to wait til Monday to talk to someone with some authority down there though.

    Now that I think about it calmly, I can see where people thinking the gun to my head was excessive. I'm not going to file a complaint, but I will go talk to someone down there to see what they say.

    EDIT: He was standing on the other side of the fence and about 10' away, so the gun wasn't AT my head, just pointing at it. No, my head wasn't tingling either.

    Boy, he sure did a lot to encourage it, eh? :rolleyes:

    For one, he didn't disassemble it. Just unloaded it. For two, he was cool as in the fact that he wasn't screaming at me, cussing at me, calling me a liar, talking down to me like I was some child, and he never threatened to rip my spine out.

    The back up officer was even more nice in that he was really friendly and even reluctant to cuff me. However, I would have cuffed me too once I knew I had a gun. :dunno:

    If you were a cop and didn't know what exactly was going on and knew the guy in question had a gun would you just let him be with his gun? Even though he COULD pull it and shoot you because he COULD have been robbing the place. Heck he COULD have felony warrants and not want to go to jail in the worst way.

    Sorry about you predicament SE.

    :popcorn:

    I don't think you need to apologize...Regardless on which side of the fence you are on, only ignorant idiots lump all LEOs together.

    was that cop so untrained and scared that he felt holding you at gun point was his only option? this is so stupid! If it were me, it would now be my turn to make him sh*t his pants because hes a retard and shouldnt have a badge. I hope the retard comes to INGO and sees me say it too. RETARD.

    While your response is a little over the top, this(the bold part) seems like it could be the case...It definitely seems like he was overly nervous.

    I'm afraid to ask exactly what you've done in this life, or the previous to cause such constant, and repeated negative interactions with government at all levels. Whatever it is, please don't get any of it on me.

    Yes, keep that :poop: away from me too.:n00b:

    I completely see where you are coming from(from your screen name, it's quite apparent which side of the fence you are on), but after SE complied to the officer's demands and got on the ground with his hands on his head, do you really think it was necessary for him to keep painting SE's head with the muzzle of his pistol?

    I'm not a cop basher, I've never even had a bad experience with one...I do, however, think this was excessive.

    Even after he ran his ID, he joked with him and told him he has warrants...He should have been apologizing; not for the inconvenience, but for holding a gun to his head even after SE showed no ill intent by laying on the ground with his hands far away from his firearm.
