So much fun that you went for the 10mm pocket rocket if I recall. Need a picture of that for inspiration as well.

(Talking about the Chief's Special or whatever subcompact S&W model I recall that @mcapo had Allen do in 10mm).

Good Morning Young Lovers - Where ever you are :

What is happening in the great state of WindyAnna these days.??

Pretty comfy these past days here in the MidLands. Highs in the middle 60s and lows in the low 30s

No rain / precip for a very very long time.

I did the leaves and mowing yesterday and breathed 40# of dust - you can well imagine.

Amazingly the grass did need to be mowed - hmmm....

Anyway looks like the weather is holding for a while yet.

    I haven't shot anything for 9 months.!!!!

    Awwwwwwwwwwwww..!!

Nice find! I love mine in .40 and I can only imagine how smooth that will shoot in 9mm. I’ve been contemplating pulling mine from the classies and having it rechambered in 10mm!

I’m curious, what were they asking for that? My only other price comparison has been GB.
Funny, because I was going to suggest rechambering to 10mm.

    Morning all

Spent last few nights working on the mill. Replaced my 2 axis LED digital readout to a 3 axis LCD version. Added a scale on the Z axis (up/down travel), so I won't have to rely on the hand dial for measuring travel. I also relocated the X axis scale from the back of the table to the front. This gives me an increase in Y axis travel (front/back travel) with that scale out of the way. This all required careful positioning and re-positioning of brackets. It kinda sucked, but I'm glad it's done. This will make milling a little easier and more enjoyable now.

So you can cut dovetails in barrels in addition to making sights?

Before and after a trip to AllenM.

    40 to 10mm conversion.

Rechambering the barrel I understand. What about mags and room in the frame for the longer round?

CS45 mags work fine or the 40 mag can be modified to work and it uses a commander-ish recoil spring. It is very shootable for a two finger 10mm.

I had some 45 mags...already. The CS40 was the lowest production of the CS semi-autos so I waited until I found a trashed one. The other side was pitted much worse so I didn't feel too guilty about converting a CS40.

At least 3 times, I saw the 10mm compacts at the 1500. 3 chances to scratch that itch and 3 missed opportunities. That would probably be one of the better shooters for a compact 10mm carry gun. I really do wish they'd stop just milling a sight into the slide up front though. That was most likely the biggest reason for my letting my full size go.

Next time, buy two. One for you - one for me.

I could do that before. I just need the correct dovetail cutter to do that procedure. I haven't bought any yet, because like most things in the gun world there is no standard size and lots of sizes out there.

Who needs a sw 61-3 escort project? It’s ugly but does function. I got for a winter project and planned to cerakote but want to replace the 9mm I had to give up to make the shadow orange deal. Thought I’d give you all first dibs before the classies. I know this thread is full of tinkerers. $150 or 500 rds factory 9mm IMG_3912.jpeg

Just hit the new Academy again at lunch and picked up a case of Blazer Brass. They had it on sale, and used a 15% off grand opening coupon on top of the sale price, and opened a card to get an additional $15 off today (will get 5% off on future purchases). Case of 9mm ammo for ~$188 before tax is not bad these days

I never signed up for the card before as I only got out to the Academy in Terre Haute infrequently. It will be more useful now.
