Agree with points 2-4. The bicyclists have every right to the lane anyone else has. They do not have to ride the white line. Actually that is more dangerous for them because it emboldens cars to squeeze them off the road.
I wish people got angry about things that really matter…
Indiana is F'n stupid when it comes to biking. Our roads are barely big enough in a lot of places for cars, let alone bikes. When I lived in MN all roads had large shoulders (3 feet or so on each side) that allowed people to bike and stay out of the freaking way of traffic. The problem is that bikes don't go anywhere near the speed of traffic and our infrastructure is poor enough that most roads are choked with traffic. The reason this matters to a lot of people is that most people riding bikes are hypocrites. First they say they want to "share the road" with cars and obey the same laws, then they blow through stop signs and stop lights. I love riding a bike, but I sure as hell don't want to share the road with cars. When I want to ride I take my bike to the park and ride where I don't have to worry about being run over. If you're in a small town with country roads, that's one thing, but wanting to ride in most areas around Indy is a bad idea IMO. Do what you want to do, but there's a reason people hate on cyclists.
