I don't fully understand all of this. From what I see on Twitter, the 450 IRR being called up is a big deal.
This article is short on details but has more red flags than a communist pride parade.

IRR (Individual Ready Reserve) are individuals NOT (repeat, NOT) in uniform, but still have a service commitment. Signed up for 4 years and got out? You still have 4 years of service commitment. (non-medical) retirees have a 30 year service commitment, but that's Retired Reserve and it takes a full mobilization (haven't had one since WWII) to bring back a retiree.

My money is this is a volunteer mobilization. IRRs can volunteer to come back on AD, things are different for Officers, your mileage may vary.

If IRRs are being non-voluntarily activated? Katie bar the door. Things are worse than we thought.

I wonder if and when Ukraine is going to declare war on Russia?
Or when Russia is going to declare war on Ukraine?
Is this an invasion, a war, or a military operation?

That was my observation as well. Considering that I'm IRR, it's not my favorite move.

It also seems like an interesting move in the midst of a recruiting crisis. Almost makes me wonder if the whole point of the EO was to normalize calling up IRR.

For anyone curious: Individual Ready Reserve is the "reserve" military force comprised of recently discharged veterans. Usually within 2-4 years for enlisted servicemembers and forever for officers.

I know it's conspiratorial, but at some point one has to wonder if Joe's administration isn't actively trying to subvert the country. Is he using the Ukraine conflict to drain our weapons supply before a potential conflict with China? I mean his family was making lots of money in both those countries. Nothing seems too far fetched any more after the number of conspiracy theories that turned out to be true over the last few years.

I firmly believe it. First our oil reserves are toast. Now ammo.

it sounds like the Ukranians hit the crimean bridge again.

Making things worse, is the Russian idiots let over 50,000 civilians into a war zone rear area as Crimea is a popular tourist destination.

Just another 500 million. No congressional approval needed this time as they already gave funds to USAID(that giant sucking sound you hear and feel in your wallet is normal USAID funding needs...$60.4 Billion worth in total).

The US paid WAY less for Alaska, from the Russians back in 1867 (even factoring in inflation adjusted dollars).
We had better come out of this whole debacle with a 51st State.

Expending existing Javelins, mostly 'E' models without several important improvements and costing between $170,000 and $180,000 per. Raytheon/Lockheed has already made its money off these

Assuming will replace them with latest 'G' models at $220000 to $240000 per. Raytheon/Lockheed says 'cha-ching!'

The War Pigs are probably happy with that, but we have sent ~8000 to Ukraine so far and the annual production rate of replacements is a only bit over 2000. Other expendables just as bad or worse. Hope China holds off on invading Taiwan for at least four years
