Dang! That’s still under 6 minutes each mile! Pretty incredible especially post high school!
Well the marines teach you the perfect technique for running 3 miles.

You start by smoking a cig, make sure you’re not hung over, you want to still have you buzz from the night at tobies. Then when you start, sprint to the lead to exert your dominance. Then you sprint until you’re too tired, call yourself a b***ch and sprint again, repeat for 3 miles. Collapse, call for doc, he’ll have your smokes or dip ready, then if that doesn’t work, he’ll wink at you and mention something about a silver bullet…

Morning everyone, I'm back trying to catch up. My dad passed a couple weeks ago and required around the clock care for about the month prior. GPT hasn't been on the priority list. Things are getting better and that's as good as can be expected.
My condolences on your loss and prayers for you and your family. We went through something similar last year with my wife’s dad. May God’s peace be over you and your family.

I was never a sprinter but could chew up the miles at a steady pace. The last half marathon I ran was in 2014 (age 58 just before I ****** up my spinal cord) in 1 hr, 45 mins or just under 8 min miles. I probably weighed about 180 at the time. My morning runs were usually 4 miles and I could do close to 7 min miles. Miss those days.
