So…what’s the end game for the freedom caucus?

The republicans need 20 or so votes to seat their guy, the democrats need 10 or so, and the MAGAs need another 400 or so…is forcing an impasse really in their best interests here? I don’t see how this works out in favor of MAGAs at all…this looks like a one-way ticket to the kiddie table to me.

It is hard to understand what is going on for those of left thinking. Heck it is hard for some conservatives. This us what democracy looks like, not the prepackaged uniparty stuff they have been delivering for the last 20 years. See my post added to this post and it spells out exactly what this battle is over.
Good explanation of what the fight is over.

“That should get his vote total moving in the right direction, undercutting the prior momentum from the anti-McCarthy holdouts. Here’s what those concessions look like.”

The end game is to get McCarthy to concede to certain conditions being set by the 20 holdouts. They want high ranking committee spots and other agreements from McCarthy about what type of bills the majority will propose, debate.

This all ends with McCarthy as Speaker. There really is no other path forward, but the gang of 20 holding out will get a bigger voice in house business moving forward.

I politely introduced myself to Rep. John Rose (R. Tenn. 6th) via email today. I voiced my disappointment in his support for Rep. McCarthy and asked at what point did he think his constituents, given Tennessee's voting record, would approve of his voting record this week.
IMHO, McCarthy is a California democrat with an "R" beside his name. Look at his behavior and voting record and convince me differently.
I have no misconceptions of McCarthy, but ironically, I now question the decision making of my representative.
