One thing I think that is sorely lacking in the entire debate is... What outcome are you actually wanting from this conflict?

Have you considered the possible outcomes and what they might bring, rather than just cheering for a team to win as if it were a game?

I have yet to encounter anyone who's seriously acknowledging these aspects.
Why don’t you go first. What outcome are you actually wanting from this conflict? Since you asked the question.

It’s difficult to observe something like this and not take sides to some extent.

Call me crazy, but I'd like to see us be energy independent and not have to give a crap about what happens between Ukraine and Russia. If only we had a president that did that for us. Oh wait, we did...

That seems to have been the biggest impact (other than sending billions to Ukraine) for the U.S..

Boris: Look Yuri! Little kid wearing Dad's suit is giving boring speech!

Yuri: Even deaf sign language lady is about to to have seizure listening to this crap!

Boris: Little kid in Dad's suit is talking about Putin's partial mobilization.

Yuri: It sounds like they will be activating 300K Reservists. From what we saw of their regulars? The Reservists must be a real force to be reckoned with. BA-HAHAHAHAHA!!

Boris: I expect they will be on par with Russian War Reserve Materiel. Very rusty and less than serviceable.

Yuri: Good one Boris! As the American Supply troops say, slap a red tag on them and send them to see Doctor Moe.

Boris: American English is such strange language. How is DRMO pronounced, Doctor Moe?

Yuri: Many years ago during NATO exercise I actually saw Doctor Moe.

Boris: I know this is not Doctor, but beautiful supply depot.

Yuri: There were things you can't imagine Boris. I witnessed what was called, "cash sale day." Americans from the NATO base descended like locust! At the same time it was like social gathering. American Forces from organizations who traditionally hate each other, were actually cordial to one another. One troop was so happy with his purchase, a 0.18 cubic meter refrigerator. He even named his purchase.

Boris: What did he name the refrigerator?

Yuri: He named it, "Beer Fridge." He was so happy.

I'm wanting what ever costs the least lives and doesn't lead to further conflict, over what is a fight between the 2 most corrupt nations on the planet.

The only reason we care about Ukraine is its proximity to Russia, and its control of oil into Europe. We didn't give the slightest **** when Russia invaded Crimea and straight up annexed a fair chunk of a sovereign nation. Why should we start now?

Ideal outcome to me would be an agreement to surrender territory in exchange to stop the fighting and mitigate escalating tensions between the west and russia.

The most objectional outcome, to me, would be Ukraine winning and joining NATO, which would promptly result in anti-missile systems being installed within a stone's throw of Moscow, which would rightfully provoke ww3.

Ukraine is not worth losing American lives over, and it most certainly is not worth risking global annihilation for. I also take issue with the US using Ukrainians as proxies to fight a hot cold-war pissing contest with, while pretending we give a **** about their lives or their country.

I'm exceedingly tired of all the sophistry and drama being used to obfuscate actual interests in the conflict. Especially as my tax dollars are going to prop up this ridiculous pissing contest for what amounts to a piggy bank for the president's crackhead son.

    Ok, fair enough.

I would like to see a free, whole, and independent Ukraine emerge from all of this. A non-NATO member Ukraine. I would like to see Russia stop threatening it's neighbors and pretty much everyone else and also stop with the constant and destructive expansion that has been occurring over the past decade or so.

Honestly the biggest threat to Russia is probably China. A weakened or collapsing Russia could spur China to cross the border under the guise of "relief" and start annexing territory just like Putin.

I think the world has to be careful with appeasement. It is very dangerous with someone like Putin. If Ukraine were to stop now and sign over all the territory it has lost I believe Putin would take a year or two to rebuild and reorganize and then we would see this happen all over again. Another invasion with more territory annexed. Then after Ukraine is gone, it's on to Lithuania, Finland and Poland. Where does it end? Do we give them back Alaska if they threaten us?

I don't think anyone on here wants a world war or a nuclear exchange of any sort. However, as long as those weapons exist the possibility is always there.

I share your disdain for Biden and his entire family.

Just my two cents. I am an observer in all this just like we all are.

War in it’s simplest terms is the exchange of resources for other resources.

Russia exchanges people machines and in return gains crop land Nuke plants gas fields and can place troops in the gap that must be controlled that runs thru Poland into uk rain.

NATO depletes Russia’s reserves In Troops and weapons and political stability while retaining the gap control into Russian heartland at the cost of economic stability and a cold winter energy wise.

Uk rain gets major weapon advancement but loose the most troops and civilians and capital in Roads bridges whole cities and towns. Uk rain looses the most. Russia next .

I am surprised to not see more resources being pulled out of the uk rain Russian controlled areas into Russia proper. Grain coal Gas combines tractors grain trucks ect.

The Suwałki Gap is the main goal in the whole ordeal. If we see Poland get majorly involved in the regional dispute it is because Poland has a claim in uk rain in the gap and they want this area for themselves. Belarus ( literally white Russia ) would go into the gap as they hold part. Now Poland vs Belarus Russia vs uk rain . Germany setting next to a powder keg without the ability to up manufacturing of their own highly regarded systems use of lack of power. And turkey playing both nato and Russia and on the verge of economic collapse.

if uk rain had just held onto the nukes they had the war either would not have happened or we would all be taking massive amounts of potassium iodine by now. Thus never let them (whoever they are) disarm you.

    Here is list for you.

Also not 300,000 mobilized but 1,000,000

I am not seeing that 1 million number anywhere other than that dudes twitter account. I guess there is a possibility that dude is somehow in the know.

As someone already mentioned. Russia’s best troops have failed. How will their reservists do?

Russia has always just thrown bodies at an enemy. A pricey tactic by any measure.

Well that did it. It was enough to send the Russian populace screaming and running for the exits... literally.

Anywhere they can get out of the country, they are......

And it looks like the Tin Foil hat and Isolationist crew was here again...

Russia has already heavily cannibalized its training regiments and sent them to the front.... just who is going to train all these mobilizations? The effect of this will be minimal for over 6 months. It will take ages to train anyone, if they can. And what will they use? Some old crap T-62? ages old AKs?

As to the Nukes, its a hollow threat..

In short. Ukraine has Russia on the ropes, using western supplied arms..

As well as others, the Tank Corps captured pretty much intact at Izyum is a FRONT LINE Moscow unit. Scads of intact top of the line Russian T-80s/T-90s.

Keep the beans and bullets flowing I say, Ivan may not recover from this mess for decades... don't listen to Putin. Appeasement doesn't work.
