I totally agree, me personally I would prefer DeSantis over Trump. You still get a Trump like person without all the lip service. And I believe he would do us well.
DeSantis is a swamp dwelling establishment politician. We have enough of those already. We need ”take no prisoners “ non-politicians to step up and take names…

Ranked voting can create the problem of two from the same party being in the runoff and thereby denying the voters a choice in the actual election. The association issue is those that support a candidate cannot get them on the election ballot.
It seems like you're still thinking of the ROV part of the election as a primary. It's not. Primaries would be replaced with this. It's one election in two phases.

In each state candidates get on the ballot, probably by signatures, like it is today, but with better rules to make sure the other candidates can't **** you like the case in Michigan I posted. Candidates could run with the backing of a party or not. As long as they pass the requirements to get on the ballot in a given state, then people can vote for that candidate.

So then maybe in July, we hold the ROV election. Take the top two from that and run them off in November. Yeah, it's possible that two candidates from the same party could get elected. But hey. Your guy from your party WAS on the ballot. He lost. Tough ****.

What date does the constitution specify for the ROV election?

Big downside. You are describing a system where the majority can keep minority candidates off the ballot. Candidates that may appeal to independent swing votes and could win an election but not a huge multiple choice contest. Primaries are just for parties to decide their nominees not decide who and only who can be on the election ballot…

How can a majority of candidates keep a minority of candidates off the ballot? I did add the rule against intentionally faking signatures for an opponent so that that opponents signatures get thrown out. I also think people who do that should have their tallywhakers whacked off with a dull machete.

And this makes parties having to select their candidates for the real election unnecessary. They can back as many candidates as can get signatures to get on the ballot. No need to whittle them down to one each. That's what has turned our system into a two-party establishment dominant system. This breaks all that **** up. Sometimes you have to break up the turds before they will flush all the way down.

Oh, you misunderstand. I have already said that this isn't gonna happen. I'm saying it would be quite ****ing awesome to implement this system. So it would have to be done as a constitutional amendment. Fat chance of that EVER happening. Too much establishment crony fortunes to lose to ever have a system that actually works.

Oh, and I already specified as the ROV election taking place in July. I think election season, by law, should not be that long. So Give all the candidates a few months to get their lies messages out. So maybe election season starts March 1 of an election year. Then Rov happens the first Tuesday after July 4th. To vote, it's in person. Before being granted access to the polling place you have to be wearing red white and blue and have a US flag pin (to be provided if you don't have one) on your upper front somewhere. I'm just kidding about that last part, but not much.

How do you know this? We all thought GWB was like that too.
Just by past statements made by DeSantis.
Everyone thinks I don't like Trump, that is so not true. What concerns me is the folks who left him for Biden might stay if he is on the ticket. Then you have to consider his age, he too is getting up there.
I also believe the election was fraudulent. I'm not sure if Trump can get enough votes or will be indicted.

Ranked choice voting is used in some states. The outcome for such a voting process has produced poor results - see California for example.

The same as the "swing state" voting that took place in 2020, these things need to be looked into.

If there is not a legit ID tied to every single vote, IT IS NOT A COUNTABLE VOTE. :nono:

Those who count the votes need to be accountable and audited.

Poor results? Can a "good" result come from California regardless of voting method?
Good question. My answer is probably not. If Cali were to fall into the ocean, I'm sure Arizona Bay would be a nice place. Below link contains some examples of the short comings associated to RCV. I had no idea that RCV came to America from England. I also didn't realize how many locations tried RCV only to later get rid of it. Edit: article is from 2019.

The main problems with RoV is when they use "instant runoff", which kicks in if no one wins >50%. It's too complicated. Straight ranking is better with a real runoff. The RoV portion of the election system I'd like to see merely chooses the people who run in the general election and replaces primaries. So then the top two candidates run in the general, and that election is first past the post. I don't think RoV would be good in a single general election where all the candidates are available and you just pick the top one. Because it would be possible for a candidate to win with less than 50% of the vote.

And I understand it's still more complicated. It requires an IQ above room temperature. And you have to know your candidates.

It's mainly the current primary system I want to be rid of.

As much as I would like to see Trump back, I don't think it will happen. CoC republican leadership isn't done beating populism into submission yet so I'm expecting a Mitt or Jeb candidate in 2024 and they will go into that election knowing they will lose and keep losing until they have squashed all populist hopes.
