Perhaps this is why evacuation was prioritized instead of killing the “penned up” murderer and saving the wounded.

This is getting picked up now. While police officers were outside tackling and fighting parents trying to go into the school, other officers may have bypassed the shooter to go find their kids and pull them out.

Maybe they were too busy doing that instead of finding a key and breaching the door before CBP came along to do their jobs for them. Sounds like quite the clown show for those 45 minutes.

Pretty heartbreaking info from one of the child survivors out today, too. Shooter did indeed walk right in through an open door. Before the shooter was taken down, police apparently yelled into the room for survivors to holler and identify themselves. One child did, and the shooter heard them and walked right over and executed them.

My ears are ringing from the volume of the circus music.

I will simply note the following:

When the SHTF, the "first responder" to your situation is..... YOU.
This is true but when you are 10 years old there’s only so much you can do. This looks very bad for those who responded but we need to stow the long knives and pitchforks until all of the facts come out. If the gossip is true, though, heads should roll.

Armed guards for our money. Armed guards for our politicians. But we tell our 1st graders to huddle in a corner. If teachers can spend a day or three to receive training thus allowing them to legally carry a gun inside of a school, I too should have access to said training and the legal allowances it affords. There's no such thing as a gun-free zone. Heck, we can't even keep contraband out of supermax prisons.

Confirmation from a Texas DPS LT that some officers did indeed enter the building to retrieve THEIR OWN children while bypassing the murderer.

I hope for their sake this turns out to be a misspeak or misinterpretation, as it so far is the primary source for the claim. Gonna be some dark stuff happening in that community if it really gets confirmed that their cops ignored the shooter to go save their own kids.

    Listening to press conference.

Suspect entered parking lot at 11:32 shooting at the school
    11:40 walks into school.

Said outside door appears to have been left unlocked.

Mentioned negotiations, as in they decided to negotiate with the suspect after they “penned him up” during that 30-45 minutes prior to killing him.

Let me say that again for those hard of hearing

POLICE ATTEMPTED TO NEGOTIATE WITH A PERSON WHO HAD SHOT 21 PEOPLE WHILE THOSE PEOPLE BLED OUT IN THE SAME ROOM HE WAS BARRICADED IN.

There is no defending that. None.

It seems to me the best way to "save your kids" would be to take the shooter out first. WTAF?

Here is a likely blind spot in training. During our 26 week academy, we give the recruits a week of Active Killer and Structure Clearing training. Sim rounds and live bad/good guy role players. Active shooting, direct to threat. IF the shooting had ceased and the suspect barricaded himself inside a room, that can change the scenario to a barricaded suspect. Recruits are trained to enter a room but those situations are where the door can be opened normally. From what I have been told, the CBP officers that made entry carried breeching tools and it took them some time to breach the locked door. They were part of a "SWAT" style team and thus had access to those types of tools. Street officers don't carry those tools as good ones are expensive and require training to use them effectively. This might be an area that hadn't been thought of in Active Killer training.

It’s worth noting for those not familiar with the border situation that border patrol doesn’t just stand at the border. They have checkpoints and operations extending well into Texas.

I personally went through CBP scanning checkpoints while still several hours drive from the border. They don’t care if the car is loaded with guns and mule deer in case anyone was wondering

Why should he? Cops have no duty to defend you as per the supreme court, so what are they good for other than stealing from the public (civil forfeiture) and stomping on peoples rights?
    Amazing.

Let’s not be a dip ****, and actually apply some critical thinking for a second. How many would he have killed with no cops? How many more school shootings would happen? How many more deaths from dui’s, or overdose, or robberies?

**** off with your cop bashing bull ****. Put on the badge and go do it if you know how it should be done. You’re probably the mother ****er that called the cops because the neighbors dog was barking too much.
