Recently, the staff has become aware of members, mostly new ones, that per the law, would not be able to pass the NICS 4473 background check. They have been brought to our attention by members and other ways.
According to the law, as long as you have no reason to suspect a person is a prohibited person when selling them a firearm, you are fine.
IF this concerns you, there are a few things you can do on your end. You can always do a 4473 transfer at a FFL. You may also request to see ID and a LTCH. A simple search of a name online or in mycase.in.gov can work too.
This comes back to the classifieds being a perk for contributing members and the rules INGO has in place. Looking back into someone's post history can give you an idea of who you are dealing with.
If you come across a member who fits into this category, or you suspect they do, please drop a staff member a message or report the member. We'll deal with it from there.
