    In the country, hopefully.
I've said nothing about the people there.

You know that you have nothing to stand on when you resort to insults.
Do you really not see what you’ve said about them, or that you were the first to resort to insults?

I know this is a huge threadjack, but I’m just very sad at the state of humanity in relation to how people cannot in any way shape or form say they were mistaken, or sorry. So many people just can’t seem to do that, and it just makes I things so much more divided, when we need to be together.

This is not about RR or appendix.
Do you really not see your attitude?

Where would i look to find these classes?
Take a Basic Handgun and then a Concealed Carry class from a Certified USCCA Instructor...
Both provide excellent overall education, are comprehensive in nature, and teach personal safety and situational awareness, as well as avoidance as the first goal (if at all possible), rather than allow you to get yourself into a situation where you many need to draw your firearm and shoot!

Any advice for someone just now getting into guns? Specifically, advice for carrying and safety. Thanks!
BTW....that is an excellent question and a great way to start your venture into firearms and safety!
On this site there are some excellent 'advisors' - those who actually know what they're doing...
And there's some not-so excellent 'advisors' - those who're more 'gung-ho' vs safety-first in their advice!
Be aware of the differences and always go with a 'safety-first' approach...and you'll be fine!
    Welcome aboard sir!

I guess the easiest way to get to 50 and his flashy is to pick a fight about something he knows nothing about ... so be it.

OP, if you attend a RR event, please come with an open mind. That is one of the first requirements for ANY training event.

You also need to know more than just how to handle a firearm. You need to know the law. Find the time to attend a Guy Relford Essentials of Indiana Gun Law seminar or something similar.

The more knowledge and training you get the better off you will be. You will know when and when you should not use a weapon, the safe handling of a weapon how to use your weapon. Unless the courses no longer teach carry laws in basic classes anymore. It's been a long time ago I went through a few classes in Ohio for work related reasons.

    In the country, hopefully.
That's exactly what this is about

My attitude is that I won't pay for mediocre training. If that offends, so be it.
    Nobody asked you.
Nobody asked you to comment on RR protocol, or anyones.
Nobody asked you to sign up for any training. I don’t think they would, you obviously know it all already.
You have added nothing to help the OP, except to show that assholes can show up anywhere, especially right behind us. Which is valuable, I guess.
(No, I didn’t throw out the first insult.)
Have fun DQing your next victim at your stupid little contest that makes you feel like so much more than a keyboard warrior.

@peytonriddle until you decide what direction to take, I'd like to offer you this to get started. Contact me via pm/conversation if you're interested, and I will mail it to you.

It is NOT the definitive source of information, but a good place to start. There are many reputable training outfits out there, the research is up to you. Many folks in here have excellent sources of information and resources to help you through your journey as a marksman. Take what ANY of us say with a grain of salt and apply it at your discretion. Good luck, stay safe, shoot true.

1 . Get a class, like basic intro to firearms. Then get a class like defensive carry handgun. Train, Train, Train. Safety, Safety, Safety.
    2. Get a gun safe or secure means to store the weapon in you home.
    3. Practice. It's very hard to be consistently accurate with a firearm.

I would recommend Revere's Riders. They put on excellent classes.
