I was drunk the day my mama got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in the pickup truck
She got ran over by a damned old train.

Steve Goodman would be ashamed of y'all.

    Beavis, the grammar nazi. :)
Not really, just pointing out there’s a significant difference between him saying it’s none of his employers business and me asking why my health is someone else’s concern...

If I can choose what you do with your health based on my opinion, I don’t want anyone here eating Big Macs or drinking soda anymore. I’m mandating Jetta be a vegan from this day forward, because I care so deeply about his personal health. No more bacon for Jetta!

Ah, so we can now discriminate against women of child bearing age, the overweight, the poor because that leads to poor health, gays (promiscuity is serious health risk), trans (not paying for all that chopping and sewing), black folks (greater propensity for accusations of racism and lawsuits), shall I continue?
    This.

Make people exercise a certain amount each day.
Decide you can't have processed sugars.
Tell you you need your appendix removed regardless of what a doc says.
Require proof you've brushed your teeth 3 times a day, and the correct way.

    and so on
    and so on

Uhhh, visible in the Federal Register

And the one immediately after it makes it mandatory for federal employees

Does not apply to judicial branch
Does not apply to legislative branch

Let me try to remember. I seem to remember there being 3 branches. So, the only one left, is executive branch, which is in my sentence.
As for contractors, well I think that is being debated if it can be done.

Are you talking about the navy again? ;)

That’s what they want. They want the ability to control citizens like they do military members. Sadly, people push their propaganda for them, making their attempts more plausible.

Remember, Nazis had citizens willing to sail their own down the river. It didn’t begin there, that’s what it progressed into...

My question was in response to Jetta saying “getting vaccinated is protecting your health”. Why is my health his concern? I hope he doesn’t get diabetes, but if he does because he ate a Big Mac every day, I don’t care. His consequences are because of his choices, as are my own. It’s none of his business.
If you look at the context, he was responding to this: "It's because the primary goal is apparently to vaccinate rather than to protect your health. One has to wonder why?"

That is a false dichotomy and he was just picking up on the language he quoted.

Let's, perhaps, state it differently: "Here's a crazy thought - what if getting vaccinated was protecting health?"

    That is the point.

Also, if my company was REALLY concerned about my health, they'd probably shut the place down.
    Nasty chemicals in the air.
    High temperatures.
    Machinery that crushes people.
    Gases that kill people.
Shift work which has been claimed to shorten lifetime.
    The list goes on.

Those things won’t effect you if you get the vaccine. It literally gives you superpowers.

    It's Darwinian.

You have a vaccine that may or may be of value to you. Make your choice.

12,000 guys in a uniform that looks like a doorman's outfit** on the Upper East Side (I think they are Air Force :) ) oppose vaccination.

Now, it is the up to the brass to decide what they are going to do. These are the same guys (by rank) who pummeled us with Agent Orange, contaminated water at Camp LeJeune and Burn Pits in the deserts of southwest Asia.

    We live in interesting times.

This is missing context. That quote was my response to someone saying that their employer made mandate accommodations for those working from home (no interaction with the rest of the workforce) but then walked them back. The argument of protecting the health of their workforce no longer holds, unless by protecting they mean making everyone's health decisions for them to protect them from themselves.

The point he replied to was that it isn’t about health, it’s about pushing the vaccine because they’re enforcing mandates to people working from home.

I asked why my health is his concern? If I work from home, it wouldn’t risk their health, so why the concern over my personal health that you’re willing to force me to do something I don’t want to do?

Not sure what the issue is? It’s a legitimate question, more so than him answering a “it’s obviously not about your health so what is it?” with “what if it is about your health?”

I think you missed the connection. You couldn't throw out Roe with that argument.
I think the point he was making was that "my body, my choice" is considered to be infallible holy gospel by .gov when it comes to abortions. Yet "my body, my choice" is now considered "revolutionary", or "insurrectiony" or "white terroristy" or some such nonsense by .gov as it applies to these mandates.

Edit: I know what the difference is now. With abortions, it's "Whatever you want to do to your body yourself is totally your choice and okie dokie!"

But "my body, my choice" as it applies to the vaccine mandate is "Whatever .gov wants to do to your body is not your choice!"
