I am still trying to find where Ivermectin won a Noble prize. See where a couple guys won a Noble prize for using it against parasites. Seems that was in tablet form not horse form?

I imagine if Pfizer changed the name then and that makes it a dirrerent formulation then perhaps the human tablet vs the horse variety would qualify as the same thing

    Still looking around though.

It didn't win a Noble[sic] prize, but it did win a Nobel as an anti-parasitic for treatment of humans

One of the important facts to retain from that is that its use is approved for humans

Then reference 'off label prescribing', which has quite a well documented history

Hey Bug, not really questioning off label use so much as finding out if the two formulations are the same.

Cool. Looks good to me. It would be useful for Doc or Chip to comment.

Fascist faucis own words...from the article

"In order to make the transition from getting out of the tried and true egg growing which we know gives us results that can be, you know, beneficial, I mean we've done well with that, to something that has to be much better, you have to prove that this works and then you have to go through all of the clinical trials: phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, and then show that this particular product is going to be good over a period of years. That alone, if it works perfectly, is going to take a decade."

Hey Bug, not really questioning off label use so much as finding out if the two formulations are the same.

The horse stuff is 1.87% ivermectin, which comes from avermectin.
The drug its self is going to be the same. What else is in it will be different, as will the standards for manufacture.

I'd be no less concerned taking "horse paste" than I would using fish tank anti-biotics. It's the same medicine in the end, you just have to know what you're doing with the dosages as it's easy to screw yourself up. If I was dying of an infection and can't get meds from a doctor, for what ever reason, I don't think the first concern I'd have would be the tiny difference in manufacturing cleanliness.

I would consider both as last ditch measures, of course. There's methods of getting human versions of all of these things without a doctor, with things the way they are currently.

Sooooo, I’ve been curious for a bit now, I wonder how many on here and how many we know have procured ivermectin? Specifically, tablets for human use.
I wouldn’t expect anyone to really want to come out and say, but maybe some would.

A Chemist/ChemE is the wrong person to ask that question. Is one manufacturer's gasoline the' same' as another? On what scale are we talking
