doddg, can't recall if you ever tried out a TC Contender. But with a scope it is most likely the most accurate handgun I have owned. Will have to have a shootoff wit it and my Ruger Charger with KIDD barrel.
Always wanted to, but when I see them for sale they always come with 3-4 other barrels I don't need.
Someday I'll stumble onto just a .22LR TC Contender.

Zachcz picked up a Kel-Tec CP-33 that I got to take to the range today with a red dot on it.
    It shot well.
There is a learning curve to getting the 33 rds loaded, so as they will feed properly.
I never did figure it out except for 1 magazine where I only loaded 10 rds, haha!
I'd get the loader if I was buying one.

Shooting the two Beretta M9-22 pistols was a pleasure & I like them both.
I can't see the front sights & the target at the same time & would rathe they come with simple 3 white dots or a fiber optic on the front sight.
I'll need to paint the front sights this weekend.

Had problems with the scope holding zero on the SW Victory, so next time I'll take scope off to verify it is a scope issue, then put another scope on it or maybe a red dot.

#2 is Zach's gun I bought from him with the green Hogue grips.
#1 is the gun I bought before Zach's.
Perhaps I'll take the distance out to 45' just for fun some time to see if there is a difference, & keep the one that I can shoot the best since at 21' there is no discernable difference with my hands & eyes.
Both want to shoot a tad low & to the right with my eyes on practice targets, so I tried to allow for that.
Aiming a little higher was no problem,
but a little to the left was harder since I couldn't really see the front sights clearly, haha!
You can see on the 1st target on the left with each gun there was a learning curve.

Rimmed rimfire cases can be difficult to get to double stack properly, let alone quad stack which is what that gun appears to use. I generally tap the bottom of the mag in the bench a time or 2 to help it seat the rounds properly on my rimfire mags, especially the double stacks.

I tried everything to get the rounds to seat properly.
I was tapping, jiggling & shaking them & pulling on the little slide thing on the side to get them lined up staggered like they are supposed to go,
but I never really figured it out consistently: they seemed to have a mind of their own.
Zach sent me a pic of what the rounds look like when loaded up in their clear plastic magazine.

    Done correctly:

Testing out the two Beretta M9-22 that I have to see which to keep, but they both shoot "samish."
I put a different scope on the SW Victory & it came alive.
Put a few rounds through the Beretta Buckmark Silhouette 10" barrel, but to tired to post a page of targets.

Thought I'd take both Beretta M9-22s out to 45' & 30' to see if one did better over the other at longer distances than my usual 21' (only iron sights).
I was using CCI Blazer 38 grain 1235 FPS, LRN.
    Left side is the 1st M9-22 & right side Zach's M9-22 (2nd one I bought).
    Range 09.27.2021 Both same 45 & 30ft wo all the writing.jpg

CCI Blazer once again the most accurate.
    Range 09.27.2021 Zach x3 ammo targets 1.75 in cirles..jpg

Replaced scope that came with the SW Victory & solved the flier issues.
Now, any flier is on me.
    1.75" circles.
I've had 4 other SW Victory pistols, but a scope really brings out the best in it.

Those are some good looking groups. I own and love to shoot several 22's-pistols and rifles. I have been kicking around the thought of adding one of those new Taurus TX22's to the stable. Would like to find one of the optics ready models. Plus the 16rd factory mag and threaded barrel included is a plus. Why Glock put out their 22 and then asks their customers to spend another $150 on a threaded barrel is crazy.

Never had any interest in the Taurus TX, but the competition model gets my attention.
I shot the Keltec CP-33 that belonged to Zachcz & it impressed me, even though I've never had any interest in any Kel-Tec product.
Good point about the Glock threaded barrel.
I imagine it's all about the bottom line & just trying to maximize profits.
I "never" buy a new gun, but I succumbed to the Glock 44 & did enjoy it, but it was nothing special with accuracy & lacked consistency, which could have just been me, but other guns behaved better in my hands.
The rear sights were the cheap ones that are used on guns anymore, which is why I like the older ones that are incremental.

Rear sights on a Glock 44 are adjustable I believe. Not saying they are good or bad ones, but from the factory, believe them to be adjustable rears per the description: https://us.glock.com/en/pistols/g44

I love my TX22, but then it's role for me is to try and duplicate a striker fired carry gun. It's been very reliable for me.

I have not tried the competition model TX22 that is optics ready, but there is a review or 2 here on INGO about those as well I believe.

Yes, adjustable, just not precise like the older .22LR pistols.
Cheaper design, I've had them on other newer .22 pistols.

Yeah the competition model is the one I was referring to as well. When the glock44 came out I was less than impressed. The fact that they made it with only a 10 rd mag, the slide is partially polymer, and the non threaded barrel like I mentioned earlier where the things that turned me off from wanting to get one. Glock really could have hit one out of the park with it, but they didn't.

Good to hear. From what I have seen few have reported having issues with them. I will look for the review on here for them. The reviews I have seen on youtube all rave about it, but I've learned to talk them with a grain of salt. Never know who on YT is being paid or received one free for a positive review.

Some folks have reported barrel leading concerns, and have successfully requested barrel replacement from Taurus. I have not had those issues that I'm aware of, and I have only shot copper coated/washed ammo.

Interesting. I did not hear about that. How do you like it overall? How's the trigger. etc?

For me, it's a trainer gun to try and match normal striker fired EDC's, so I like it alot. I'm not trying to shoot little groups on paper with it, but ping steel and practice.

Before this, I used an Advantage Arms kit on one of my Glock frames, then an M&P Compact 22 (which is not striker fired, but internal hammer fired), etc and now the TX22. My favorite for reliability, and mag capacity, and overall feel is the TX22.
