OP, Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics is teaching a force on force class mid September in Muncie. That’d be a great place to ask and test the idea. Class is limited to 10 so while thick skin may be needed, maybe not as thick as in here.

You should be carrying a length of paracord every day. Now instead of rope you can assess the threat, cut the rope with your edc knife to custom size, and now have a garrote AND a rope.
