So I have witnessed many a bar fight. I watched a guy get beat down with vacuum cleaner one time.
Bike chains are a favorite of certain groups and are effective.
The only use of a garrote I have heard about is in true crime when used by a criminal.

So I can just imagine the interview room.

”So you felt you were in fear for your life and garroted the guy?”

”Yes”

Dude. Go back to page one. Proper training and it’s possibly the best self defense tool out there. And, if you’re being robbed and whip out a garrote they’d be more intimidated than the sound of a shotgun being racked.

Point of order: Assumes you survive to be interviewed.

An old school phone, the kind with rotary dials, can be devastating weapons as well. I just thought about the fact you also have a built in garrote with the cord...so really you've got a swiss army knife of options there.

Although this idea has merit, it's hard to be the gray man while carrying an old school phone around.
Personally, I've been busy shopping for many colors of paracord, so that I can color-coordinate them to my outfits. A well-dressed man must consider these things !
