If I get pulled over at night by an unmarked car and someone out of uniform walks up. I’m driving away slowly. This isn’t a high speed situation. 10-15 mph and I’m calling 911, in that situation I would feel in danger

European cop cars are highlighter yellow to show people that’s the police and they are here to help. American police departments like to show off vaguely marked cars on their FB like they are cool.
It’s a trend that needs to stop.

Personally I feel unmarked cop cars shouldn't be making traffic stops uniformed officer or not.

The lights are what annoy me.

Most unmarked cars have such dim or near impossible to see lights, it just seems like some wacko is tailgating you.

Light bars exist for a reason and should be used.

Yeah, but all the ones I've seen have a door shield on them. A Mustang got me in Jeffersonville a few years ago when I was headed to Dale Hollow.
I don't remember if I saw a door shield or not. I seem to see them on 37 the most, so maybe they're not even troopers. Could be County I suppose.

So don't look at their FB pages. Keeps you from getting triggered.

Maybe. Read that closer. marked OR officer in uniform.

If you pull over for an unmarked car, and the person in the unmarked car gets out in plain clothes, THAT is the time to decide whether to pull away slowly and call 911, or sit and take a chance.

If I decided to pull away, I wouldnt floor it. I'd pull away slowly and calmly fast enough the person couldnt run to catch me, then proceed at a slow speed while dialing 911. But that could still result in a curb stomp if the original officer was legit.
I`d say roll away slowly while talking to the 911 operator. Tell them you want a MARKED car at your location NOW. Look, I support law enforcement, but there have been cases when a good citizen rolled away, trying to make it to a well lighted area while speaking to a 911 operator, and the office went monkey **** once the citizen pulled over. THAT`s NOT acceptable. Period.

Except for that one light beaming in your mirror so you can't see anything.

The only ones triggered around here are all the LEO’s and their boot licking fan club every time I post a comment. It’s flattering really.
My last LEO contact (where I was in the wrong) was in 1989. Were you even born in 1989? I assure you I have licked no boots. I'm just able to stay out of trouble. It's really not hard to do.
