My late mother, born 1914, used to say "And if the dog hadn't stopped to pee, he would've caught the rabbit!".The phrase I remember is

Grew up with most all of these being they (family) were depretion era farmers.I remember "over yonder" and a nod or point as reasonable directions
I also remember Tea clearly meant Sweet Tea; unsweetened Tea was always a mistake.
"I believe that dog'll hunt" was an explanation frequently used by my grandad when something was broken but he had tweaked it, rigged it, messed with it till it had been 'mechanically improved' to the point that it would probably work now...
