Alright I read the first few messages and the last 50 and I don’t know where the conversation is heading but I wanted to sound my support for the 50 minimum posts rule and/or site supporter. I’m surprised it’s only 50. I’m one of the peeps that is not social at all and hates talking and would rather just listen to what ya’ll are saying so this is an effort. I grew up on a farm in the country but my family was not into firearms so all i knew was my dads Winchester 190 .22lr. I got into firearms a few years ago along with my younger sister a bit and the internet is where I’m gleaning most of my guidance. I’m nearly 30 yet I despise social media so I’m out of the loop on a lot of fancy acronyms and such. Thanks to the rules i have great confidence in the classifieds and even though I’ve already made mistakes and have been reprimanded by CM for good reasons I feel this is a jewel of a community from what I’ve seen. keep it up, I’ll learn.

Edit: oops, apparently I’m supposed to whine about it. Okay the 50 post rule sucks. ...I can’t think of a good reason for that tho...

Maybe when they place your presence in a new metal exoskeleton.

I have some polymer hanguns they are all hammer fired except for one and although it's a striker fired it is a SA/DA handgun.
When they can make a SA/DA, then I might consider looking at one.

I remember years ago talking to a Evansville PD officer that wrote a theft report for wine stolen off the delivery truck. I noticed a Sig 229 as his duty weapon and I asked why the Sigs?. He told me they changed out to Sigs from Glocks because in the heat of the moment a index finger riding up and interacting with the slide was just enough to not cause a reset. Good enough explanation for me.

I’m new and learning here. I read that when Glocks first got accepted the Police departments required they having a stupid heavy trigger spring to prevent ND’s. As training got better they lightened those springs. Also that’s one of the big arguments for having DA... is that what’s going on here?

Edit: I don’t mean training is needed, i mean is that why people like da/as for edc? When it’s time to pull it’s a little harder to prevent ND in time of adrenaline?

When a persons adrenaline is all jacked up, a heavier trigger spring don't mean diddly.
The only true way to prevent a ND is to keep the booger hook away from the bang switch until it has to be fired.

Other than Glock buying their way into the LEO market with heavy discounts, I have no idea about Glock's having heavier triggers for LEO's.

I once bent the hood hinges on my car, after it blew open on the highway: with a pair of 9" lineman's, so I could close the hood.

The next day I removed them and could not them with a heavy vice and hammer.

They are called "New York Trigger Springs". NYPD thought the lighter triggers would be dangerous for officers transitioning from DA revolvers. The heavier springs were invented specifically for NYPD to make the brass feel safer about moving away from heavy trigger revolvers.

Appears I was thinking of the NYPD Trigger Spring. I was looking at an article like this when checking out some old LE trade in's.

Edit: Cameramonkey beat me to it. Thanks!

This is just another way for the post-rich to stay rich and the post-poor to be kept down.
I was talking to Bernie the other day and he said: ‘No user needs more than 50 posts. Those with more than 50 posts should have their posts divided up amongst those of us without enough to earn a decent living post count.’

    Also, I’d like a free Scar17.
