I’m thinking about investing about $7000 dollars in gold/silver. With that being said I’m torn what ratio to buy.

I currently have approx 150oz of silver and no gold.

I’m thinking about buying 3oz of gold and fill the $1400 left over with silver. My main question is that too much gold? Or would it be better going 2oz gold and $3300 silver?

I know ultimately the decision is mine but I would like a little input.

More gold, but maybe wait a bit and hope for a spot drop?
Depending on what you are looking for, supply might be a problem. It's really hard to find sovereigns, Mexican pesos, Latin Monetary Union 20 Francs equivalents, and Austrian 100 Koronas right now. Eagles, buffaloes and the usual international bullion coins and bars are easier, but the premiums are high.

You could explore here, but they do not include some good suppliers:

That's a deeply personal finance question, and my answer to that would depend on if you were planning to add more in the future or if this is a one and done deal.

In my opinion, Gold is for the people with the really big bucks to take it from cash to something else, then back into whatever new currency we end up with. For me, I think of silver as the equivalent of a $20 bill. I can get groceries, chickens, gear, favors or anything else I can barter with that as a currency. As an investment. I think silver has more room to grow or fluctuate than gold does. Compare todays prices versus 10 or 15 years ago and I don't think silver has had the explosive growth in cost that gold has.

Ended up with 2 1oz gold maples and a tube of Australian kangaroos. Saved 3000 to see what the prices do. I may get a gold eagle and a tube of eagles.

To my surprise the Australian kangaroos were going for the same price as generic rounds. And they are .9999 fine so I figured I’d try them out

Got notice yesterday that my last order from Gainesville had shipped. Looks like USPS is up to their shenanigans again. Got notification from USPS in my Informed Delivery email that it would be delivered today, but when I go to the USPS tracking website, it says it just arrived at their facility in Ybor City, FL today. :n00b: Somehow, I don't think it will get here today.

Just got the safe i bought back from the locksmith, he gave it a thumbs up as to quality, it is 2 layers of steel with a fireproof material in between the layers, has combination and 2different keys to open it, neighbor said it was a old bank safe i believe it, very heavy, i bought this after buying all his gold he had{ i had already bought all his silver earlier} our present safe was full. I do advise anyone getting into coins and bullion to invest in a good safe, it paid of for us when we had our house fire a few years ago, everything was intact.

Order showed up today, despite getting a subsequent notice that it would be tomorrow. Once again, the mail carrier "signed" for it, but at least they left it in my mail box instead of giving it to some random person.
