I've seen tula going for that online, but you add tax and shipping it's more like .70cpr

Yeah, that graph says the AmmoSeek lowest cost brass FMJ 9mm in stock, new or re-manufactured... so that would currently be this at 55 cpr plus handling and shipping fees:

Yea, the plots are useful as an overall trend but not as actual cost of ammo we would typically buy. An example from a different vendor on ammoseek with somewhat better reputation a week back:

Winchester USA Pistol Ammunition USA9W, 9mm, Full Metal Jacket (FMJ), 115 Grain, 1190 fps, 200 Rd/bx (USA9W) = $129.99

which is about 65 cpr. With shipping/handling total is $144.15 total, around 72 cpr.

Winchester 9mm range ammo could be had for $30 a box (before tax) at one of my local shops 3 weeks back. Now they're $40+. There seems to be plenty of ammo around, just in the hands of online retailers, not big box stores or local gun shops.

I should have put a more direct disclaimer that I was NOT endorsing the site, nor the ammo nor the price... just that this was what would be the lowest price ammo on AmmoSeek in that graph presented earlier.

Yes, I'm also noticing on GB lots of 250 rnds going for 75-80 cpr BEFORE shipping, which ends up being close to 90 cpr shipped... meanwhile, 70 cpr cases are zero bid... which would be 73 cpr shipped. So, yeah, only using part of the stimulus check for ammo, lol!

And I agree... the big "dump" of stimulus money into bank accounts was 2 weeks ago... now it's a trickle of paper checks. The big question going in was if that money would buy every single round available no matter the price.... and send us back to $1+ per round... I think the answer to that, so far, is no.

"Buy as you need it" may mean something different to you than others. I do BOTH. I stocked up before when prices were low, as many on here did. When prices go back down I will restock to whatever levels I deem appropriate at that time.

That's why the wishful thinking in this thread makes me laugh. We aren't anywhere near the peak of the price curve yet.

One of the reasons why economics is called the "dismal science" is because despite all the math they don't really know what they're talking about. One example is the demand curve which is supposed to show how much demand exists at each price point. Despite being a basic building block, there's not much known about it in the real world.

What the demand curve is for ammo prices is largely what we make it to be. If there are lots of folks speculating that the price will go up, it will go up. And vice versa.

When price gouging is a contributing factor, what consumers can do to help themselves is not play into their hand.

I'm 90% sure "ammoshoponline" is just a reseller's/flipper's site as they only have one or two things in stock at a time and they have no idea what they're doing with shipping. They charge like $20 for the first box of ammo then $5 for each additional box after that which means they are either just scamming or they have no negotiated shipping rates with FedEx / UPS meaning they don't ship in volume or are a new account.

Have noticed most reloading supplies are rising, posted primer prices are 25% higher, bullet prices are higher, and powder is on the rise too. Though powder and primers are almost nonexistent at retailers at this time though.

Sportsman’s Warehouse FW had 9mm, 40, 38 spec, .22lr, 5.56. 9mm was $18/50. .22 was $40/500. Monday’s before noon......

Federal's 223/556 is now 83 cents per round before tax. 9mm is 54 cents per round, 45 is 68 cents per round.

I've noticed all Federal ammo has been going up on retail sites as well, even the ones who typically have the lowest prices. It's only a matter of time before the big box stores raise their prices unless they just plan on eating the profit loss.
