You don't have to use the browser extensions and even if you did, I don't think it's saving passwords in the browser but rather accessing your vault if appropriate. As stated above I don't user the browser extension for Lastpass so there is no autofilling for me in the browsers anyway. I've used lastpass and the phone app for it for years. I do have it linked into my phone for the autofill provider, but it prompts me and I use my biometric to allow that to happen (just started using that piece)Cross platform compatibility may not be what I'm after.
I make it a habit to have my browsers not save any data / history upon closing.
I think I need a program that'll keep the passwords in a file, that I can access via my phone, for logging in to various websites that need it. Banking, health insurance, car/home insurance, etc etc.
I also do not sign in to Chrome anywhere that I can help it, so having something "follow" me between phone, home, and work won't work for me either. I don't think. I for sure don't sign in to Chrome at work; though we're allowed de minimis personal usage.
I used to do this too, but then one of those crafty hackers figured me out. I still use my username, but backwards. (Don't tell anybody)I just keep my passwords the same as my user name.
That's a very bad idea. Hacker gets a password from one place... and now has access to 1/3 of your accounts.Ive got all mine on paper in a fire resistant safe and notes in my phone. I use the same 3 passwords for most everything so if i did lose both copies ive got a 1/3 chance of getting into my stuff without much hassle.
