Not true unless they have a local ordinance where you live.cannot shoot within 300 ft. of a residence
Want to post a link to the law?Supposedly there is a new state law, that if you are within city limits and the population is a certain size, it is illegal. Love how I only found this out because of a judge telling me.
Yeah, I would like to know the law as well. I don't want to get in trouble over some nonsense.Want to post a link to the law?
Most towns and cities have their own ordinances in place already.
Generally if you are in the country you are good. Make sure you have a good backstop and don't shoot off of your land, over any roads, or over any waterways.Yeah, I would like to know the law as well. I don't want to get in trouble over some nonsense.
^^^^^ This ^^^^^Talk to the Sheriff of the county where you have the property.
If you live in the limits of a city or town, check with the local PD about any ordinances they may have.
I actually just called my local sheriff's office. I got ahold of the first person who was records and she couldn't help and transferred me to dispatch and they couldn't help me and said they'd have to send an officer to talk to me. I asked if I could just talk to someone on the phone and they said they didn't do that because of Covid. Lol. What? You'll send someone to talk to me face to face, but not over the phone because of Covid? How does that make any sense.^^^^^ This ^^^^^
Yeah, there's a rather large hill that we could shoot into and that's the primary backstop/area to shoot. If you are out of city limits, your first concern is that all the bullets you shoot stay on that property. No guessing, no accidentals, no ricochets.

This post needs the emoji.First time I read that as "...if you can shoot outsiders."
I would love to, cannot find it though. Maybe the judge was mistaken or talking about something that is still yet to pass or failed to pass. At the time he said it was going to be a new law, but that was almost a year ago. I looked for several hours, trying to find anything about it.Want to post a link to the law?
