That's not completely true but it's effectively true.

It's effectively true because most Antifa are anarcho-communists, so they advocate for no government, but anarcho-communism can't actually exist in the real world. The best I can make of what anarcho-communists say is that they envision some kind of government-less democratic communal system where there's no property ownership (other than small personal items: clothes, maybe a bicycle, small stuff).

So imagine a group of people stranded on an island where the group decides that there is no government, and no one gets to own property...everything belongs to everyone other than personal items. They might elect someone to act as a leader to do administrative type stuff, maybe settle disputes between individuals, etcetera. Major decisions are all made collectively, majority rules. So basically mob rule.

Now imagine what it turns into as they stumble upon all the ways human behavior is incompatible with this system, that they haven't thought out all the way. They'll eventually add more power to the leadership position. And along with that will come growth of responsibilities, authority, and commensurate corruption. Doubtful that it would survive as anarchy. There would evolve a defacto "government" which has the power that governments tend to have.

We saw a microcosm of that in early summer with CHAZ/CHOP. The progressive little ****wads took their 6 blocks of land and declared it to be exactly what they imagined. No government. No property ownership. But of course someone declared himself as their leader. Started acting as a leader. And eventually consolidated some power and formed what one might say was a government, not completely, but with something similar to a police force and an immigration ministry. For awhile they were checking people's ID's putting up barricades and such until it became such an embarrassment that they changed the name to CHOP and sort of stopped what had been functionally the "immigration ministry". The final blow was the CHAZ "police" mistook a couple of unarmed teens for someone who had committed a drive-by shooting earlier, and shot them, killing one of them. It got shut down.

What happened to CHAZ is exactly what one would expect to happen when a group tries to implement a system that is completely incompatible with human nature.

I think Lord of the Flies already laid out where such a system leads pretty well

And, just a reminder, the Chazistanis prevented police access to the scene, stole shell casings, completely contaminated the crime scene, then circled the wagons and ensured that nobody was ever brought to justice. The guys who pulled the triggers on those teens are still living fat, happy, and free.

Remember when these actions were supposed to be about statues to Confederate soldiers? We were young and naive back then...

But are they? US Grant was a Republican as all of the emancipators were. ANTIFA is the militia arm of the Democrat party and they want to remove the name of all their opposition from the public.

They started by attacking Confederate soldier monuments. Remember the "fine people" hoax? Since then, they've attacked sites honoring both sides, actual emancipators, people from different periods, etc.

    You hit dead center!

They don't care what any of these people from the past did aside from the fact they were NOT Marxists.

I don't think it has anything to do with marxism, or anything.
    They just want to destroy.
Yeah, it does. While Antifa groups do accept membership from “anti-fascists” who aren’t Marxists, they’re primarily Marxist and are working to get a revolution started where they can topple the US government and erect their own. But then they haven’t quite sorted out which flavor wins between Maoism and Anarcho-Communism.
