Trump supporter here, near NW side Indpls no way I would put out a sign. The haters won't confront you face to face they sneak in in the middle of the night or when I am at work and do mischief, just not worth the risk.

What he said....if by mischief he meant arson, destruction of private property, harassing and attacking family, etc.

ETA: Speaking of signs, there's a guy at Fairview and Peterman Road, southeast corner, that has a sign in his yard 24/7 that is conservative / Libertarian in nature. It's been there for years. You can even see it on google maps. Not all heroes wear capes.

The last sign I had in my yard was a Bush/Cheney 2004. Times were different then. Now, neighbors will do everything short of burning down my house if I put up a Trump sign and I would not even count that out.

Around that time I had moved back to my familys farm in Southern Maryland, I came home one day to a 5x8 ft billboard with Vote for Steny Hoyer on it.
Now Steny has a home maybe 700 yds up the river from my familys place. We met that night and had a short discussion and his people picked up the sign and its parts that were on the ground after I chopped it up with my little 026. Since then we have put Republican signage in that lower front yard for each election.
I enjoy when home and he sees me and turns away in avoidance... Other neighbors have the duck/goose blinds at each end of the few hundred feet of the water he owns.
Others troutline for crabs in back of his house so he gets to hear the detroits run at 05:30
I put nothing at my home here and the only thing on the trucks are a Browning emblem and a USMC circle.
And a small Pedros South of the Border label...

Can somebody explain the point of doing it to me? I've never done it, never been influenced positively by it, and quite frankly don't see any benefit in advertising my political standing to complete strangers. Or maybe I just like being the invisible man.

Those plastic yard signs are awesome when repurposed as shooting targets.

I don't display them, but I take them from any campaign that is giving them out.

Me and my grandpa was talking about politics when he was younger. He said nobody talked about politics to each other, it doesn’t change minds and only causes problems. Said people at work never discussed each other’s political beliefs or opinions, never saw signs, etc. Said the hippies ruined that era, lol.

I talk politics at work, everyone is a gun owning conservative. I don’t put stickers on cars or signs in my yard. Just asking for someone to tear something up.

Also, I can’t stand people who would tear up anyone’s property regardless of which side they’re on. I hate black lives matter and Antifa, but I’d never tear their stuff up over it. I live in an extremely conservative town, but down the road someone put an “Enough is enough, common sense gun control” sign in their yard a couple years back. It’s still there when I drive by every morning. I figure if you wanna announce you won’t shoot intruders, have at it :)

I would hate to waste all that energy stomping a mud hole in a snowflakes back side if I caught them doing dumb crap in my yard. And all the trash the butt brains would throw out as they drove by.

This is a mindset I see a lot of old people having. It's a really destructive mindset too.

It just stinks of people who are unwilling to think about their views.
How are you supposed to strength your views or sharpen your belief system if it can't be openly up for debate?

This mind set is what started the never wavering party lever puller.

Seems to me that Trump supporters are more likely to remove/destroy BLM signs than anything else. I haven't seen this as often, but it does happen.

Liberals will remove/destroy anything related to Trump. But from what I've seen, it doesn't stop there. They are willing to destroy everything that you have because they hate you with a passion.

There seems to be more hatred from the left than there is from the right.

Ive never had a political sign in my yard, and I definitely wouldn't do it now, given the political culture.

This sums it up for me as well. As much as I'd like to fly a Trump flag on my pole I don't need the aggravation that comes with it. For that reason I don't have anything on my vehicles as well with regard to politics, gun rights, etc. Too many libtard crazy's out there.

Honestly, I'd be pretty much OK in my 'hood. Next door neighbor isn't an R, and I'm pretty sure the single teacher lady across the street isn't either. And probably not the teacher lady at the west end. Other than that - it's a pretty conservative street in a pretty conservative suburb in a pretty conservative state.

I live on a dead-end street, too. Only 12 houses.

But it isn't my neighbors that I worry about.

Gray man for me and mine as much as I can.

I'd recomend against it. Choose the "grey man" approach.
Don't make your home or vehicle a target. You cannot occupy them 24/7 to defend them.
If an armed mob comes down your street you want as much time as possible. With a Trump flag or sign you will be the first or one of the first hit.

    Could be anywhere
It's hard to be the grey man if you are flying an affiliation flag.

Also, in North-central IN I have not seen a single senile Joe flag or sign while there are many Trump flags flying.

Since it apparently ok for people to destroy private property over political signs/affiliations...

I don't know why I would live in a community where this is the case. Be assured that it is a no-where-near universal proposition.

I have never had a political sign in my yard. No one will be swayed by it and it can only lead to problems

I have had local political signs from time to time, Congressional primary, judge, prosecutor...but never a presidential election sign.

At this point, since I live on a dead-end private road, there's no reason for any sign. Regardless, no candidate in this presidential election excites me enough to going looking for a sign.

Fortunately, I work in a position where we are not permitted to engage in any political activity. That gives me an "out" when anyone asks to put up a sign.

The last one I had up was when my former ISP shift partner was running for sheriff. Local race, not particularly controversial. He won it at the primary, basically. (When I could still engage in political activity.)

In today's polarized and overheated political world, I'm not sure I'd put up any signs right now, for all the good reasons, above.

At least two homeowners around me have had their Biden signs stolen from their front yards.

I am NOT a Biden supporter, but it is really sad and petty that anyone would steal another's campaign sign, regardless of political beliefs.

Wow! I have never before heard of anyone stealing or damaging a Democrat sign.
