Great explanations of the different ways bikes can become "invisible" to motorists.

One thing that we've done for years that seemed to stop nearly all of the "look right at you and still pull out/turn anyways" moments is to run with your brights on during the day.
Also, on 4 lane roads, especially in town, stay the hell out of the right lane. You get lost in the visual "noise" of storefronts, signage, etc.

I thought that was standard practice.

I had a nice ride to work this morning. Even the woman with a coffee mug in the left hand, and a phone held her hand with the right hand (yeah, do the math), wasn't a problem.

Oh, and I've seen some of that guy's videos (like the Royal Enfield one), he's a bit dramatic, but pretty decent.

Nice ride yesterday and home before the rains hit.

Gusting winds were pretty rough on one leg of the ride, but it was just great to get out.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!! I'm back in the saddle. Some may remember last summer I sold my beloved Honda RC-51. To be honest at my age it became a chore to ride, So i got the itch to ride again once the weather broke and got to looking. So here it is. Just rode her home from Henderson Kentucky:rockwoot:2012 Honda Fury. Total opposite of the RC-51 but awesome in it's own way. Yes, that's right I am now an American badass!

Picked up my bike trailer from my sister's farm and pulled the deck off of it. It needs cleaned, sanded, primed, painted, lights need checked, bearings need packed, and new boards. Another maintenance project.

They bought home a John Deer mower and the back wheels sunk through.

Perhaps this will keep you out of trouble for a while.

If weather is good Thursday, I’m going to borrow my dads bike for a few hours.

Getting out on my new ride everyday I can. Have fun and be safe. :ingo:

I never realized how much a good meal somewhere factored into a day of riding for me until this virus thing came along.

Yep. Stopping at a gas station for jerky isn’t the same.
This is how I've been feeling too. Ooohh let's eat there...nope closed..... It's bad enough that the ride two years ago up to Perrault Falls Canada and back has made short rides mundane. Now this. Oh well. Maybe by the time I can retire this will all be a thing in the past and I'll still be healthy enough for another big trip. In the meantime it just sightseeing and head-clearing rides. And the occasional grocery / B EE RRun.

Looks like good motorcycle weather coming very soon and staying with us for a full week :rockwoot:

Getting close to 80 on Saturday or thereabouts. :rockwoot:

On a different note, what do you guys do for carry on your bikes? Obviously trying to always have an escape route is the goal but aren't one in a million scenarios kinda why we carry? An incident with a young lady being boxed in and assaulted to the ground and straddled by a road raging idiot comes to mind. I carry in an owb under my jacket but I'd have to unzip and reach back for it. I'm thinking of switching to a shoulder rig to reduce how much I'd have to unzip and shorten the reach but the zipper is still an obstacle.

I carry my EDC stuff when I ride, the same as I do when I drive the car, the same as I do for any other activity.

No jacket unzipping here, I'll lift the jacket the same as a sweater, tshirt or collared shirt. G19 IWB at 3:00, mags at 9:00.

Same here-my usual EDC weapon and location, under a jacket or shirt, depending on the weather.

I had to go up a size on the Venture Air pants for riding in shorts. Pants had to fit around the gun and two mags.

It works pretty well to jump off the bike, unzip/buckle the pants and riding boots. Then on with the range shoes to shoot a match.

I have another pair of Venture Air pants for sale, if anyone is interested. Size large, still with tags, never ridden in.
