Never twitter or stupid online gaming. I use reddit/discord on occasion. And WaPo....but there you cannot curse, so I generally just say "Bless Yer Heart", then put them on ignore.

You need to get outdoors a bit. There are real humans outside your den. They say things like "Boomer". I say "**** You".

(Online Bridge and Harry Potter Wizards Unite is not stupid. All the rest of them are. :) . )

How many places do you frequent where there are young idiots converging that say "boomer"?

I never took you for a reddit/twitter/discord/'call of duty player' type.

Dude. It's everywhere now. Hell, ****ing whippersnappers at work say it. Of course it's all jokes. I think.

I don't tweet, but I'm sure 280 would be more than enough for me. Jamil, Bug, you and Libertarian01 probably not so much. :stickpoke::p

There is a certain art/skill to being concise on Twitter; especially for those of us who utterly disdain text-typing/text-speak.

But, when all else fails, Twitter also added a tweet thread feature that allows unlimited train-of-thought.

It's all in how you use it.

I use it as a curation tool. I get the news from the sources I want faster than you could from any other source.

It's also a medium for specific people. Trump, for example. You aren't going to see what he says on Twitter anywhe.... ok, well, the news will certainly report what he says on TV...

But McAfee is a good example. Or Elon Musk. Those types that use it to get the word out about new/interesting happenings.

The comments side of Twitter, the arguing and pretentious know-it-all aspect of it... yes, that's garbage and easy to ignore. I'd never suggest using Twitter in its bare form. I only use it through Tweetdeck, which allows you to create lists of specific things you want to see, and just have those lists feeding through. Avoid the garbage, just get the important/interesting things, and never ever see the comments/replies.

I use Twitter much the same as you do. I rarely engage much in political debate/commentary anymore on Twitter. With the upcoming, new tools to make Twitter reply threads into literal echo chambers, any real usefulness of Twitter as a medium of political discourse will be effectively eliminated.

One good bit of reassurance comes from seeing the types of things people say on Twitter, especially in response to politicians/celebrities.

If you ever, even for a second, doubted your mental facilities and general maturity... wondered where you stand on-average... reading a comment thread is one way to calm those doubts and realize, "Yeah, I'm doing pretty good."

Oh, for sure. Crazy has almost completely taken over political Twitter.

FBI wants to interview Prince Andrew about Epstein.

Half of me thinks it's nonsense, because surely the alphabet soup orgs have involvement with Epstein... But I guess there are plenty of dark, shady orgs that don't necessarily work together.

The latest and greatest in the tin foil hat club is that the Trump administration is going to be shutting down the internet and all cell/landline leading up to Easter in a move to launch an operation to sweep up many involved with the Clintons, Epsteins, etc whom are part of these child rings. The newest uncovered member of the club being Maduro(Venezuela) for his role in the abductions/kidnappings. The TFHC(tin foil hat club) believes the elitists are harvesting a chemical from the heads of children called "adrenochrome" which they make into a drug.

    But wait, theres more!

The elitists include but are not limited to: Tom Hanks, Prince William, Madonna, Ellen Degenerous, David Spde, Brad Pitt, Kevin Durant. There are more but won't flood the post. There are more within politics that have made posts regarding testing positive and there is supposedly a coalition as to if they are insulated or being detained by the way in which they make their announcements.

Trump has hinted at Easter being a "special" day so not so much for opening the country back up. So the TFHC is running wild with this.

As for what I've taken notice to locally is the Illinois governor and the mayor of Chicago both referring to the great Chicago fire and how badly the city burned and the citizens remarkably rebuilt it better than ever. Sounds like they either are going halfsies on their speech writer or they want to clean some house. I'm in Munster so I get the Chicago news.

Having this time at home I get to be entertained by all this. Hope this was entertaining for you all.
