The labor on that would be through the roof.

You know that is right but 88 would most likely do it himself.

On that old of a truck there would be another $00 to $800 in parts etc that you would deem needed for replacement. Body mount bushings front end bits and pieces and brake and fuel lines in no way will come from the old frame. Fuel tank straps always have to be dealt with due to rust. Screw that crap.

Theres a house on the way down to beanblossom that always has a lot of truck beds in the yard on the side of the hill. I cant remember the crossroads. Theres an old train boxcar right there too. May be able to find your truckbed for less 88.
I know several people who have swapped beds on trucks over the years. Pretty common in farming communities.

Im not trying to say dont buy a new truck but even swapping the bed out if you have the skills and can do it all cheap enough, your truck sale value may be worth it. Or maybe you decide to keep the truck if everything else is good on the truck. Trucks aren't cheap sadly.

Anybody know who sells 22" tires cheap?

The 22” part sorta kills the cheap part. Lol

The salesman thought I was nuts for being so excited that the Mrs’ new hybrid has 15” wheels. Tires are $80 a piece. The Buick had 18”s and whatever the width was made them more like $150 a piece. Drove me crazy that tires were that much and were no season tires.

But he's talking frame not bed. That would be fairly extensive.

My Rav4 has 17" wheels. It will cost about $500 - $600 for a set of four tires delivered to the door and then I will take them to the sons garage and we will mount/balance them. This is from Discount Tire Direct, still not cheap but better than buying from the dealer.

Welp, if your in Lafayette head over to automotive solutions. Tell the owner jose aka my godfather I sent you. He'll hook it up. The friends and family discount is awesome. :rockwoot: hell, last set I bought from him, I traded him a 2 hour round trip to pick up a part he needed.

The last set I bought was for my GMC pick up. 17" Yokahama's. Great tires. Wear and ride so well........$900 out the door.

This is another reason why I choose to not own trucks or SUVs. The running costs drive me crazy.

I work my truck. It has paid for itself times over so that is a positive in owning it.
CKW wanted the magic bus. It is a 3500 series so lets talk running costs.

Thing is when the woman folk leave with the terrorists in tow I know full well that some idiot ass cell phone using non-driving dumb ass will not take them from me. They stand every chance of surviving most vehicular encounters. I will pay the price for that.

I'd have to respectfully disagree. We have had our fair share of vehicles and the ones with the lowest ownership costs and highest resale value versus purchase price have been our trucks and vans (my wife had several versions of the Magic Bus).

Keep in mind though, we typically buy slightly used and drive them towards 200,000 miles. Your ownership habits may differ.
