I must say that all the speakers impressed me. Usually there are one or too people that get nervous, or are hard too hear, or go of the deep end.

Everyone came across as genuine and well spoken. I loved the personal story of the "reformed liberal." I came to gun ownership and the idea of liberty from a similar path.

The woman running for Bartholomew county Sheriff was one of my favorites too. I'm going to have to play the video for my wife.

She said she wasn't there for votes...cuz no one was from Bartholomew countt...I am...and she impressed me more than her radio spots have.

Guy that came right after her...he concerned me a bit with where he was going...he was closest to going off deep end.

I have a Facebook Live video of all the speakers beginning with most of Jonathan Lamb's speech (I didn't get settled in and shooting video until about 2:15 but I rolled until the end and worked my way right up to the steps at the base of the podium, off to speaker's right to stay out of the way).

I'm kind of a fb noob... Any way to get that video off of fb and into the rest of the web?

What stood out about Saturday's rally was the relative newness of grass-roots advocacy — both from the organizers and the crowd. One speaker asked how many people had not been to a Second Amendment rally before — and most cheered.

    I resemble that demographic.

As for crowd size, I'd call it WAY over 500. using google earth, the sidewalk itself is 6,600 sqft from Capitol to Senate. The Cultural trail between the sidewalk and Washington adds another 3700. Every crowd measurement rule of thumb I use puts us over 1,000 every time. Easily. Even if I only count the sidewalk, and I KNOW at least at part of the section we filled the trail as well.
Even using a VERY loose density of one person every 10sqft, thats still 660. And that assumes none of us were on the trail. I'd say 800 easy, maybe 1200.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I couldn't help feeling a little disappointed that the turnout wasn't 5 or 10 times higher.

I saw that Hickok45 posted on Twitter that only about 75 people showed up in Nashville, so I guess it could have been a lot worse. Granted, they had rain down there...

Fox59's lead in dialogue was rather underwhelming. Rallies held in "dozens" of states? Really? 47 Capitols plus God only knows how many other smaller, non-capitol site rallies is "dozens?"

But at least the vidiot that edited the footage did a more than fair job at portraying us as patriotic, compassionate, and concerned citizens. I didnt see other videos highlighting the first 2-3 minutes of the rally like this video does.

Second Amendment supporters rally at Statehouse | FOX59

And In case nobody noticed, Our own IndyMike was working that rally. I wont say what he was doing in case he doesnt want his mug identified but I saw him, and you likely have seen his work. He's damn good.

That's embarrasing that they could only get 75 to come out in TN. Hell, had Hickok45 been booked here, the crowd probably would have been double.

The rain argument is :bs: too.

I'm so tired of hearing people say, "come and try to take muh guns. I'll die to protect muh rights," but then they won't even come out in the ****ing rain?

Awesome turnout!!! I was the guy with the Mosin Nagant. Well... the only guy with a Mosin... Anyways, I had a guy come up to me and asked me if we were all klansmen as we were walking. I told him we were far from those kinds of people and he thanked me. Told me someone said to him we were. Gotta love that false narrative, huh?

I saw at least two Mosin-Nagants. Was yours the one with the bayonet?

I wish I lived in Bartholomew County so that I could vote for that lady for sheriff.

Not only is she right on every issue, she is a fine figure of a woman! And she has grandkids!

I spoke to her briefly this afternoon. I'd met her once before, over a year ago. She remembered meeting me (just some random dude) as well as the place and occasion. That says something to me.

Holy crap, I saw you today!! You were at a 2A Rally in Muncie in 2013 carrying a folding stock M1 Carbine and had an N-frame S&W in a shoulder rig that day, wern't you?

Actually it was a folding stock Mini-14 and a brace of N frames, a 1st Model Hand Ejector and a 2nd Model Hand Ejector.
