Those who wish to see guns banned and confiscated must realize by wanting this there will be millions of workers out of work and with the social programs we have pushed over the limit we can't afford anymore strain on an already dying middle class. Then again they could care less if people lose their jobs as its all for the children.

Control freaks and their fearful minions who are driven by fear of the bogeyman don't care about facts, just their lust for control and irrational fears, as the individual case may be.

I'd appreciate if you did not question my patriotism or support of the second amendment, I have an Iraq Campaign Medal saying I put my life on the line for our rights to keep an bear arms.

BS, there are many Vets here. no one gets a pass.

And I'd appreciate it if you don't support infringements on the second amendment. Giving aid and comfort to those who want to to restrict our gun rights doesn't make you a patriot. It makes you the problem. And your campaign medal doesn't shield you from criticism of your advocating violations of what you took an oath to uphold.

... if there are going to be shootings it is better that they are gunfights that massacres. What is so hard for people to figure out about that?

Yes. However, both gunfights and massacres will be eliminated when we eliminate the gun free zones. Active shooters only prey on the weak, they won't even attempt a run at anyone who might be able to defend themselves.

    To quote Senator Reid:

    "DEAD ON ARRIVAL"

Don't even bother writing it, it's a waste of time.

They aren't writing it. They were written some time ago. They just wait until they think enough emotion has been stirred up to give them the possibility of passage. Just like Obama's executive orders aren't new ideas. They've been around for a while waiting for the right time to strike.

I was thinking about the "Gun Owner Liability Insurance" ideas they're throwing around... making responsible gun owners have insurance in case they hurt/kill someone.

And I don't know why I didn't think about it more... but it's absolutely absurd in every way.

How many murders are committed by licensed, responsible gun owners? I think we know the number is extremely low... so, they want to essentially "register" the non-murderers... because what non-licensed murderer is going to sign up for gun insurance?

There's no logical way to think about this idea. It doesn't make any sense. Who can suggest something like this with a straight face? Why do so many people think it's a real and viable suggestion?

It's all part of the process. It's not really feasible to outright ban and confiscate firearms so they want to make owning them as difficult and cost prohibitive as they can. They want it to be a major pain in the ass to be able to purchase and own firearms. It's a punitive action for not going along with their "common sense"

And, of course, now the insurance company(s) have a comprehensive list of everyones firearms specifications. Bingo, a searchable national gun registry. And what comes next? You guesssed it!

It is fair to challenge them regarding the actual liability incurred by law-abiding gun owners - i.e. the kind of people who would even consider following such a law. However, regardless of the answer, such an "insurance" requirement quite clearly constitutes an unconstitutional Poll Tax.

The problem is you can be ruined financially or rot in prison for a long time while the courts argue the finer points of your case. I am not a realistic candidate for having the patience of Job
