I know they do good work and we need them.

    I am a 1 year $35 member.

Before I spamed them I was getting an email almost every day.

I don't know what the content is on all of them because I stopped reading them.

Im not rich guy, far from it. Ive gotten 6 to 8 letters all asking for
more money one way or another.

I guess $35 a year is not enough for em.

Ive joined other org's in the past but never got this.

My dad was a life member and died over 5 years ago. I still get crap in the mail from the NRA you'd expect from car dealerships. The best was a $700 "check" to go towards a $1000 life membership upgrade, thus only costing him $300. What a deal! But wait! Call now!

Whether you wish to admit it or not, they are the big dog watching out for us.

Have little fear, the rest of us will carry you whether you wish it or not.:rockwoot:

You ain't carrying ****. The NRA is the Sharpton and Jackson of the gun world. If they win the fight, they defeat themselves.

To me they are no different than any other big corporation , they all want the same thing , more money to grow bigger .

If nobody in the organization made over 50K a year I'd believe they're in it for us , fightin the "good fight" .

But no , they waste who knows how much money sending out unsolicited CD's and expecting to guilt you into paying for them .

Or they offer some trinket with John Wayne's likeness or patriotic slogan if you renew your membership .

They feed off the little guy under the guise of "standing up for our rights" .

I haven't been a member in over two years and I'm still (got something today) getting crap from them wanting money .

I'm guessing you don't donate to many charitable organizations either. .

    Your right , I don't .

However , I donate to my local food pantries (churches) , donate blood and stay out of jail to try to be a decent citizen , so yeah the fat cats of the NRA can blow me cause they won't get another dime from me .

I vote for gun rights advocates like Mitt Romney.

Ok so not even considering that, looking at his voting record, Mitt really wasn't a friend to gun owners, what are you doing NOW in this political climate and attacks on the 2nd amendment?

I've been a life NRA member for a long time. I don't respond to most of the fundraising, but I am glad that they do it because some people will respond to each mailing, and the NRA does a good job for us with the money they raise. I don't have any membership dues since I'm a life member, but I do support them and will send something once or twice a year.

I can't believe a gun owner would bad mouth the organization that's fought for our gun rights for so many years. You know, the one all the politicians are afraid of. I don't care if they only use !%, as long as they get the job done.
Most people that bad mouth the NRA the most do so to justify not giving any money.

Ever since I joined a few months ago Im getting constantly
    asked for more money.

Its getting quit ridicules, I even had to spam them because of the constant emails.

I get letters every other week for something with a money request.

They need to spend more time and money on our cause instead of constantly hitting up current members for more cash. Heck I got a letter 2 weeks
after I joined for more cash. Give it a rest!

    :yesway:........LOL.......yeah that.....:):
    Stupid logic, and nothing more.:D

And you have no idea what I carry.
Or have carried for that matter.

I think the dudes on it.......ever seen they lifestyle?.....:):

I'm guessing you don't donate to many charitable organizations either. Because every not for profit spams requests for donations. Every one. Some use less of their budget on solicitations the others but they all do it.

If you are a gun owner and choose not to donate to the NRA because you get too many letters and emails, I pray you're donating to other groups like GOA or NRA-ILA. Because if you've been paying attention you have seen the folks who wish for nothing more than to eliminate all private firearms ownership are well funded and not stopping.

Seems silly to me to complain about some junk mail when the stakes are so high.

Well in this neck the woods/household......you'd be......wrong.....

few right off top my head.....
    St Judes
    Riley Childrens
    Crusade for Children
    Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

    etc.....etc....etc.....

I made my wishes to never hear from them except at renewal time abundantly clear in January 2012. I don't even get a magazine, paper or digital. I still see emails when I glance in my spam folder. I am willing to have my name in their statistics but I do not support their money raising tactics. It's very doubtful I will renew this year.
