Whether you hate Yeager or love him, you should want him to get his permit back.

If he doesn't, it's a huge step in the wrong direction.

In light of the current political climate, I think it would be a good thing for gun owners in general if Yeager got his permit back. Not sure how many of us would get that second chance. I hope he uses it wisely.

And we're in agreement. He did us no favours with his lunacy. Not sure he should get it back, personally. Stupid should hurt.

No doubt he sent the gun rights community downrange with a camera.

I don't know what the proper sanction is. Perhaps Tam is right, he should be court ordered to hire a Smithers.

Okay with me if Yeager gets his permit back. I understood his point in his rhetoric. But, some things are just better left unsaid, or said in VERY tight company.

    From that article:

And no matter how much you don't want him on your team, he is on your team anyway. He is getting so much attention at HuffPo and DailyKos because to them, he confirms every stereotype they have of gun owners...

Hey, just like OC'ers? :p

I have been curious about this topic since the I saw the video. James Yeager runs his mouth always. I can accept that. However, he did a full and complete retreat, and flip from the position that he stated in Pack Your Bags 1 and 2. Does he mean what he says in any context or is he just running his mouth? "Not one more inch." Then his permit is revoked. Then there is epic shrinkage and retreat. He was angry and not thinking clearly. How can one be taken seriously at this point?

How can we the "gun comminuity" justify such radical statements?

I agree that he didn't do gun owners any favors. However, my main concern in the video is that the entire thing was regarding politics. Yes, they used the threat at the end of the video to revoke his permit but his statement was all in a reaction to a political statement regarding opposition to the powers that be and their intent to remove guns from our hands. He was simply expanding on the Molon Labe concept I see thrown around so much around here.

It is not a stretch to think that a less violent statement, but a statement just as opposed to the powers that be would be result in permits being revoked.

Full disclosure: James is a friend of mine and I've known him for years. I've trained with him, I've hung out with him, stayed at his house, etc. I still think he's an absolutely awesome instructor. I disagree with his approach and his verbage.

However, I'm opposed to people having their carry permit revoked except in EXTREME circumstances. I think it hurts all of us. The 1st Ammend. still applies and is as sacred as the 2nd.

You may disagree with me and that's fine, I won't try to change your opinion. I know James is not well liked by most on INGO, or at least it seems that way from the derogatory posts about him.

I respectfully disagree with you and kirk. I think the community does this republic no favors and allows our rights to be trampled to the point they are and possibly even further. Even on this gun board i can find members who would gladly submit to further restrictions or who will never call their representation to complain, and many who if asked would just hand over their guns without even raising their voice i protest because "its the law now". Those people sicken me. because of forum rules I cannot go any further.

I'm glad he will have the opportunity to get his permit/license back. Although as one with LEO status, he didn't need it anyway.
